Gutted to hear of this sad news. Always to hand in a flash with whatever I or any other Holers through at him. Will miss him referring to 'the hound' and his mid match coffee breaks. An irreplaceable member of the site, RIP in peace old chum

Feel totally gutted, only recently me and staffie were in the chat room trying to sort out a meet up as we had never met.For peoples info he apparently was getting some grief from some on here, he didn't mention names but was pretty pissed off with it.

RIP mate, a true gent who I never met.....sad sad day

The great man has just posted this:-

Ive got to go to hospital now - urgently. I have bad chest pains and after having 2 heart attacks I have to get things checked out.

I have a few links for todays game...

Just like him put Palace before getting to the hospital
hope his links work upstairs I am sure he will be watching.RIP

Sums the guy up perfectly. Those that do almost nothing but give time and support to others are seldom found. I truly hope for his remainder in this realm he was kind enough on himself to let others support him.

To grasp just how far he reached out, I'd send his today's games online links to fans of many other clubs whenever myself or friends wanted coverage of the sport we ALL love.

Football unites us all and staffie struck me as a bit of a nucleus for that.

As others have said, I hope he gets a mention by the club and his own sticky on here, maybe even a smiley

Can't believe I've just read this. So sorry to hear this terribly sad new. I never knew Staffie in person but he was clearly somebody who spent a lot of his time going out of his way, so that guys like myself could have access to watching our beloved Eagles from anywhere in the world.

He even posted links before he went in to hospital with chest pains.

My thoughts now are with his family.

RIP Staffie and thanks for making my life that much more enjoyable over here in Vancouver, every weekend and week days too!

Wish I could have thanked you in person and told you how much I appreciated the links to games whilst I am overseas.

Without you there are so many games I would have missed...thank you for that.

RIP staffie

R.I.P to a perfect gentleman.

Thank you for your assistance to me personally and to all HOL members over the years and all done in such a wonderful manner.

Incredibly sad news.

This is absolutely gutting. Since moving to Australia staffie has been a massive part of me staying in touch with all-things Palace, he gave me the ability to talk about players and games like I had been at Selhurst. I was always dumbstruck at how one person could put so much work in for his fellow supporters out of sheer goodness. He even used to send me an email with a link to a download of each game so I could easily avoid the result and watch Palace with the same excitement I always had. From an entirely selfish point of view, I'll be lost without him.

It was just so amazing how responsive he was, to emails, PM's or messageboard posts, any queries from anyone and he got back straight away with answers he had doubtless given a million times before, always with good grace and a smiley face, it never seemed to be too much to ask. A little bit of messageboard fame is scant reward for everything staffie did for us. To me, Palace is a part of my identity which staffie helped me keep firmly intact after emigrating.

staffie I never knew you in person, I wish I had, you were a good man. All the best to you and your family. I'll be raising a beer to you in Adelaide.

Very shocked and sad to read that staffie has left us. Like most of us, I never got the chance to meet the great man but will be forever grateful for his helpfulness and dedication to helping out fellow Palace fans.

The HOL will never be the same and a much poorer place without you.

Rest in peace.

Tragic news and a genuine loss to Hol.

My condolences.
