Absolutely gutted to hear this, I was hoping it was a mistake or miscommunication or something. I've never met staffie and beyond the occasional thanks for providing match day links I don't think we'd ever talked, but I'm so saddened to read this. I joined this site way back in it's first year, one of the first 100 to join and I can honestly say in all this time I've never seen anyone so willing to help his fellow HOL'ers where he could, without asking for anything back than staffie. This place will truly be poorer without his contribution. Perhaps we could create a new HOL award called the "staffie award" (no capital S) for the most helpful person (be it with tech or just in general). That way what he contributed to the HOL will be remembered. RIP staffie and you will be genuinely missed by all of us on the HOL.

Absolute Hero. Got me through some tough times in random countries. Hope there is a tribute being arranged etc. Will sing that bit louder for you staffie on Sat. RIP -Eagle forever

Has anyone suggested a staffie wake before the Hull game? It would be good to raise a glass in honour of the man in the company of others who share my respect for him. Anyone have any suggestions for a venue? I know he didn't drink, but I'm sure he wouldn't have objected to us meeting in a local watering hole.
