I was going to say Franz Ferdinand in my list but no one has rated them for quite some time so I left it.

Saw them live at Glastonbury while I waited for Goldfrapp and the Chemical Brothers. I can only think the lead singer couldn't hear his own voice. Or his testicles had got twisted putting his trousers on.

Does Fatboy Slim count as a band? Not really but I'm putting him in too. His live show involves an old bloke who can't put his headphones on properly pressing play on a CD player. On that basis my dad's act is roughly the same. People say "yeah, well, the tunes he's released" but if you look at, for example, Right Here Right Now, there's virtually no part of that that he made himself. It's 3 or 4 samples put on top of each other. Well done you bald old Brighton supporting bell end.

Real name, Tarquin - changed it to Norman to appear all working class and man of the people-ish when in The Housemartins and affects a mockney accent Ben Elton would be ashamed of...he's a talentless cock monkey of highest water

Wikipedia says Quentin. But yeah, still looks like a b*llock wearing headphones.

Ooops yep - sorry Quentin it is...I was thinking of an ex lover or possibly an otter...

Wasn't Tarquin Kula Shaker?

I thought he was a Crispian ?? Hayley Mills son.

Off the top of my head

Oasis (not to be confused with the Bootleg Beatles)
Radiohead
Sex Pistols
Fleetwood Mac
Pulp

I think the Mac are fab

I quite like a few of their ditties, same with Oasis & The Pistols. Just think that they happen to be massively overrated.

Which Mac are you talking about?

When Peter Green was running the show, ie pre Rumours... they were a great band.

With Lindsey Buckingham they were arse-gravy and stll are.

I suppose there is a good argument there since they came with alot of hype when they burst on the scene and have got alot of awards but in their defence I feel they have lived up to to it, released 5 very good albums and Alex Turner is a fantastic Lyricist. I would also add they are genuine and come from working class roots unlike Kasabian who come across as posers

How has Mumford and Sons not been mentioned yet?!? Terrible music made by talentless hacks and yet somehow billed as the current 'biggest band in the world'!

Even though I cant stand the Beatles i cant call them overrated but would include:

Oasis - the Beatles Lite
Radiohead - a band that people are told they have to love but barring one song i just dont get it
Coldplay - only have one song yet they have about 5 albums
The Smiths - again just think they love themselves and feel we all should too.

On the U2 comments they are not even the best band out of Ireland - an insipid band, I had once posted on another social media site that U2 are to Rock music (actually music in general) what Beige is to the colour spectrum.

What I find amusing is that most if not all of the bands mentioned thus far, would sell out Wembley stadium, especially Oasis who could probably fill it 10 ten times over.

It seems to me that the more commercially successful a band has become the more they are disliked by the trendy masses.

Well for the record I think Oasis (and high flying birds for that matter) are a top band, I like a lot of Kasabians stuff (club foot) too, I also happen to like the Arctic Monkeys, if that makes me unfashionable I couldn’t give a f***.

However The Smiths, Cold Play, and f***ing George Michael are dog s***

Now let's all try and name five Norwegian bands that have any sort of rating, good or bad, outside of Norway

Alright, just try and name one then.

People are so precious about music. There are only two types of music:
1. stuff you like
2. stuff you don't like

Anyone who tells me I should like something I don't, or I shouldn't like something I do, can just f**k right off!

If "Barbie Girl" talks to me on a deep level, if I am a Belieber, or if I happen to find the Beatles p*ss boring is not a "right or wrong" answer, it's just the truth, no more or less valid than anyone else's truth.
