I'd prefer Austin to Ings.

We need goals and Austin will always provide more of those than Ings, no brainer it's Austin for me.

I would aswell but we are palace and we don't hav a bottomless pit of cash...Austin would cost in excess of 15m...ings would probably be 1/3rd of that...and hes 3 years younger meaning if he comes in for 2 years and done really well we are selling a 24 year old rather than a 27 year old.

Ings deal makes real financial sense for where we are right now.

Mate with respect, there is no way that Ings will go for 5 million. That's the price we paid for Mutch who couldn't even hold down a place at QPR. Ings is a sought after young goalscorer. I don't know his worth but I can tell you it will be way over ten.

Ings gets my vote as well but no disrespect to Austin who is a great player.

First time posting here. Finally got a season ticket next season for me, the wife and 2 kids although living in the Midlands i doubt I'll get to more than 6 matches.

He's available on a free transfer as his contract has run out.

I wouldn't touch either tbh. 10 goals this season from Ings. Not what we really need and that's someone that will bang in nearly 20 in a season. Considering this is our 3rd up coming season (still sounds amazing) in the Prem.

We don't need a 20 goal a season striker. If you look at the top scorers in recent years, not many ever get 20. In fact, it tends to be either 2 or 3 a season who get 20+ prem goals. A striker who gets 12-15 is plenty for us.

Add to that, Austin's still on 17 and that's with the QPR squad around him.. and 10 from Ings at 22 in first prem season..

10 or 15 mill for either pls

Don't know whether this is too simplistic but hasn't gayle scored more goals per game ratio than either and now can't get on the bench (don't think he's injured)and would love to see him play in last two if only to put him on view for a transfer.

Ings contract does expire this season but because of his age he will not be available for free. Both Bournemouth and Burnley will want maximum compensation as there is bound to be a buy on clause. Considering the commpensation Hull paid for Ince I don't think £5-£7 million will be too far of a settlement figure as i don't think anyone will want to go to tribunal.

Ings certainly has bigger clubs interested and as others have pointed out he may not be first choice so he may decide to go for a smaller club where he is first choice. So I think Palace should try to get him but I think the chances are low. If he was to go to a mid table club I think a more established club like Everton would be more likely
