If you click it, it just tells you that they've reserved a copy for you. The tease!

Yeah last time I updated windows it essentially broke my computer. I've got a Lenovo and the network adapter stopped functioning. It happened to many others which I discovered online. I had to spend quite a bit to repair it. It makes me wary of updating to windows 10. Anyone tried it yet?

Due for general release on July 29. The versions available are for beta testing. So be wary, but may be OK now.
Windows 8 upgrade will be free. Not sure about windows 7.

As a warning, expect more phone calls from India saying there are problems with your computer and they can fix them for a fee. Illegal scam in this country, but not in India.

Hah... What pap... Windows 3.1, it will never catch on. Turn to Dr DOS and your future will be bright.

It partly depends on what software you are running. I have never felt the need to upgrade my Office 2003 as it does the job more than adequately for me and that won't run on anything later than Windows 7 so I won't be upgrading

Upgrade for Windows 7 users will be free too.

No harm in "reserving" a copy, although it will download it for you.

In saying you can upgrade, it's checked your compatibility of software etc.

You CAN'T easily downgrade, so the advice from me would be to do a full system backup with a full image of your system drive so you can restore.

That said, I'm upgrading from day 1 and currently have Win 10 technical preview running in a VM and on a laptop.

I like it. If you're not sure, I'd wait until release, read a review and see if it's the right move for you. Would strongly recommend doing it before the year is up though as there's no getting away from it.
