When's the last time an Italian player was successful in the premier League tho? Recently Aquilani, borini, and lamely (I know) have all been flops when they've succeeded in serie a. It just seems like such a huge gamble.

Graziano Pellé at Southampton.
David Osvaldo at Southampton.
Davide Santon at Newcastle.
Mario Balotelli at MAN CITY. (Not Liverpool, crikey.)
Vito Mannone at Sunderland.

You're right though. Other than that, not many. But they're all pretty decent (obviously apart from Balotelli. Lol.) If it's success and careers that have 'flourished' in this league that you're talking about, then all of those players have made it.

Wouldn't exactly call santon, Osvaldo or mannone successes. In your opinion that's the calibre of player we should sign? And yeah I meant lamela, I know he's argentinian, hence the parentheses. But he flourished and grew up in the Italian league then struggled here. f*** off.

On the blob again? , regardless of what has been said Lamela is Argentinian. And mannone and santon have been successful , mannone was player of the year for Sunderland.

Pelle came from Feyenoord, I think he meant Italian league rather than Italian players.
Osvaldo hasn't been impressive, nor has Santon. Mannone's been alright from what I've seen.
Balotelli was at City, and is now appalling at Liverpool (mainly due to his lack of work).

You're already on a yellow. Last warning.

But my yellow should have been removed a year ago, in fairness.

You'd only have kept getting another time after time. Look at it like a rolling contract.

The powers to be need to sort out the carding system, it's totally against all fair practices.

There are/have been instances where members/trolls have deserved cards, and not received one be it yellow or red, there are other instances where members have been carded for almost nothing, there is no real consistency.

If true and I know you and one or two others have had yellow cards for some while, that is not fair or right, there should be an automatic cut off time, after which the card should be lifted.

Before a member is carded he should be warned about his comments, and told he risks receiving a card if he/she transgresses again in a set period of time.

Well the owners are Italians and Watford have employed a number of players from one of their sister clubs Udinese but not all of these players are actually Italian. And a number of their players have come from one of their other clubs, Granada who are a spanish outfit. On the subject of players, none of their three top scorers last season Deeney, Ighalo and Vydra are Italian.

Their recent managers Zola and Sannino are of course Italian but they went up with Jokanovic.

Sounds pretty fair and realistic to me isn't that how referees ref matches too

There have been plenty of fantastic Italian players in Prem history. Lombardo, Cudicini, Vialli, Ravanelli, Carbone, Di Matteo, Di Canio and Zola to name but a few.

Admittedly the amount of success stories seem to have dried up in recent years and this article seems to think it's more the changing style of English clubs not suiting their game rather than a culture thing.
