This article from my favourite website makes some very decent observations about the Jon Snow situation, warning contains spoilers OBVS.

Good read. I'm now convinced that he'll be back and Sansa has survived which is great news.

Well worth looking back at the rest of the articles, there is a huge bit of history on the wall and the White Walkers which isn't explained in the show (yet) and I found quite interesting. [Link]

Just about to order the books as my thirst for thrones is too great.

This has every series you could think of all in one place, a lot of which is also in HD.

Found it on Ranierland (stupidly, this is where I watched series 4 and I'd forgotten all about it).

Ep1 & 2 done last night while ironing, consequently late night and really not ready for the alarm at 04:30 this morning!

Would be surprised if Jon snow is dead, he is far too important to the storyline & currently has one of the few remaining valyrian steel swords left in the seven kingdoms, plus the whole hardhome bit with the come at me crow scene was a waste if he really is dead.

Don't forget Beric Dondarrion of the brothers without banners has been ressurected several times by Thoros of myr who happens to pray to the same god as the red priestess who now finds herself at the wall, I suspect she will sacrifice herself my plunging snows sword through her heart to ressurect snow who will return as azor ahai or he could actually be dead in which case f*** knows

That's my prediction, either that or he Wargs in to ghost. Thoros of Myr is responsible for lady Stoneheart who the series seems to have skipped entirely. Shame as it would be awesome seeing an undead Catelyn Stark. As for Bran he is boring glad we had no Bran this series. Danerys is also whiney and annoying. Apart from Tyrion and Jon and Jamie all the characters are pretty annoying so I'm sure they will bring him back. Just wish they had killed off Brienne of Tarth in the shows, such a weak actor.

Always found the throne cast programme after the episodes on Atlantic to come up with information which isn't apparent in shows to help piece the pieces together

Just caught up with it. Unfortunately most of the big events in the series were ruined for me by t***s on Facebook and in the news but I have to say, considering all the drama surrounding the rape scene I didn't find it particularly offensive and thought Stannis Baratheon burning his daughter alive was far worse.

Same here it was tame I thought in all honesty, wasn't graphic.

I think as you new it was coming it lost its impression. For me it was more that such an innocent young girl was subjected to it. More of an emotional scene rather than graphic/visual.

Burning of the daughter was far more visually tough.

I thought it was handled really well, with just the sounds, it made it seem so much more horrible and powerful. The last four episodes all were emotionally very powerful and provocative, for different reasons (some positive, some negative and some just awe inspiring), which is what I want from a TV Series. If I wanted just to be entertained, I'd get a lobotomy and a cup and ball.

You're probably right as similarly in earlier seasons I was underwhelmed by the red wedding which I knew was coming but was quite taken aback by the trial by combat twist. I'm going to have to watch it week by week from now on to avoid the twists getting ruined but much prefer watching them all together over a couple of days.

I tend to watch them the evening, here, after broadcast in the states, which is naughty, but f**k it, I'm f**ked if I'm going to spend more on TV Channels than I already do.

The Red Wedding came as a bit of a shock, to say the least, as at that point I hadn't read the books, and whilst I saw it coming, it still came as a bit of a 'F**k Me' moment as the credits rolled.

The Jon Snow stabbing, I knew about, and I was worried they were going to leave it out (essentially its how the last book ended, more or less).

As for books vs Series, the series is a lot better, and is actually focused compared to G R R Martins incessant over focus on the irrelevant (a factor common in fantasy writing). They're all right (book 2 aside) but they're no where near as well written as people would have you believe.

Above average, decent fantasy is however very rare.

I do the same mate although there's not much choice out here. It's probably my impatience but do you not find it a pain waiting a week for an episode? Especially after a particularly good one such as the battle against the white walkers recently.

The Jon Snow stabbing is left a bit more open ended in the book isn't it? I would be very surprised if they did kill him off as they're running out of male protagonists slightly.
