Think your missing the big picture. You can find people who will say anything. Somewhere in these forums who thinks Pardew is overrated and would prefer Alan Mullery back as manager. That doesn't mean they speak for Palace supporters in general. Choudery is the same. You refused to go in a house because a copy of the Daily Mail was in it! (Hmmm, ex-mother-in-law, they can be touchy when sons-in-law start telling them what they should or should not read.) How do you get on going to your local newsagents - do they have to serve you through a window of something? I guess supermarkets must be a problem too.

Edited by derben (23 Jun 2015 8.11am) Even though I prefer printed things (my flat amounts to a bed, a sofa, and books all over the place) I have to say that I no longer buy newspapers...rather, I take my news online. It's not entirely by choice; I simply refuse to pay the ridiculous sums charged these days. A few weeks ago I was tempted to pick up the Observer on a Sunday but I think the price was in the region of three quid. That's more than I spend most days on food. It's not a question of whether I can afford it, either. It's simply refusal to be fleeced. All of that notwithstanding, the answer to your question is kebab van :-)

Cant think who is more loathsome. Choudary or the Daily Mail. Slightly odd that they are in league in this story and suspect there is a little more to this than meets the eye Yeah, tough one that. Is a daily newspaper more loathsome than a terrorist who want to turn the country into an Islamic fundamentalist dictatorship? Has he been convicted of terrorism? I assume that free speech doesn't apply here. Personally, I hate the guy, but he's no different than the people who deliberately offend Muslims, such as by producing images of the prophet. Loathsome creature, but not a terrorist.

What Choudhary did is neither terrorism nor even incitement to terrorism. There's no case to answer here though righteous indignation, moral outrage and disgust are the appropriate responses of any sane person. That the policeman appears to have kept his cool is to his credit. I think in another thread I generally defended the rights of those unhappy in this country to remain here as it seems to me the fundamental right, even duty, of a citizen is to seek to change his country for the better where he finds a genuine wrong. So those unhappy here due, say, to racist abuse have every right to complain and remain simultaneously. Choudhary, however, does not fit that bill as he is simply creating outrage for destructive, rather than constructive purposes and I would ship him out without missing a heartbeat. Unreconstructed scum. This is not a question of where you stand on the political spectrum; filth doesn't vote. It's just filth.
