"Britain first" has been on this pric*s case for sometime in a campaign to get hate preachers like him of our streets, good news.

Extremists against Extremism, says all you need to know about Britain First. I don't really see a difference between them and the Islam4UK etc, other than maybe Britain First, except that Britain First hide behind an agenda of UK Nationalism to pursue their fundamentalist agenda.

Just a different flavor of hate.

Well Jamie if our useless justice system and police force would do something about the very real problem of Islamic extremism then groups like Britain First wouldn't need to exist, but as our police force are so scared of being branded racist, they do nothing and just arrest the people who speak out against Islamic extremism. Another problem is the weasel like human rights lawyers who stop the likes of Choudry etc being extradited. So wether you like them or not, at least BF stands up against these terrorists.

Except Britain First isn't a product of Islamic Extremism, its an off shoot of the British National Party, formed in 1982. Jim Dowson formed the group after leaving the BNP in 2010.

In 1999 he was founding militant anti-abortionist groups in Ireland, and like Choudary, has a history of glorifying terrorists (Michael Stone). He also has a history of association in Northern Ireland with Unionism and was involved in organizing rioting over a recent flag issue, along with a long association with Ulster Loyalist groups.

Like the Far Right (and left) though out history, Britain First are just capitalizing on popularist issues in order to swell their support.

Christian Fundamentalist c**ts are no better than Islamic fundamentalist c**ts. w***ers are w***ers, no matter what 'colour shirt they wear'.

Jamie, I don't agree with the existence of BF anymore than you do, what I'm trying to say is that this is a by-product of our pussy footing around for fear of offending people. I don't believe that all muslims are terrorists but an awful lot terrorists are muslim. Lets just clamp down on this cr@p. They shouldn't be allowed to spout their bile anymore than BF should theirs. If you don't have one, you don't have the other.

I'll just place this here:

"Who's the real facist? The person who exercises free speech, or the person who tries to stifle it? The mods didn't give me a red because they know full well that you can't ban a poster for simply exercising their right to an opinion. The book 1984 is one you should probably read, but then you'll probably be writing to the powers that be to get it banned, idiot."

FUE, 2015.

Why post a lie so obviously false to anyone who visits HOL regularly?

If you don't have one, you don't have the other.

Difference of course is that the Far Right groups have been doing that for decades, pretty much since the resurgence in the 70s of the National Front and British National Party. They've just changed the target from blacks and brown skinned people, to immigrants and muslims as serves their best interest.

A surprising number of terrorists have also been Protestants and Catholics, especially in the UK and there are a lot of apologists from those groups who generally can say what they like and protest where they want. Choudary seems more to me to be like a less popular Ian Paisley and his ilk, or Gerry Addams without the snazzy 'legitimate political party' catch phrase.

Yep you make a fair comment. The Blair government let a lot of Catholic and Protestant terrorists off the hook and that is truly disgusting. I am a former serviceman and my father was before me. I have heard truly horrific stories of what happened in NI, not just from my father but from some of the older guys I served with. When I joined it was all very much coming to an end and the main theatres of war that I served in was Iraq and Afghanistan. You can compare the current situation with that of the troubles.
BF are of course a splinter group of the BNP and the far right have been going an awful long time. They are no better than the Islamists but the main difference here is that like or loathe the far right they may spout off plenty but they don't do bombings. Don't misread me, I like neither, and despite my views on what is going on in Calais I think any form of extremism is abhorant.
The problem is that we do let the Islamist extremists get away with far more than BF. Was anyone ever arested over the poppy burning incident? Does anyone of the islamist trouble makers get arrested when the two factions clash? The answer is no. We need to come down hard on these people and let them know that their behaviour will not be tolerated, end of. Successive governments have not done enough to tackle this problem.

Burning poppies isn't a crime. Its dislikable, but as an anti-war protest, its pretty much covered by the ideals of democracy allowing right to protest and the right of free expression.

Similarly, non-violent protest is effectively a right in the UK, irrespective of what you are protesting against.

Of course if you then come along, full of 'righteous anger' at someone's free speech, even if you hate what they're saying or expressing, and confront them, you're committing public order offences.

You have the right to protest about it, obviously, but you if you are counter-protesting, then you're the one escalating the situation.

For the record, I don't actually believe in Freedom of Speech, but if you're going to have such a stupid law, it has to be free to everyone, all the time.

The idea of using anti-terrorism legislation to deal with what amounts otherwise to freedom of speech and expression, is contradictory. A right, by definition, must exceed the capacity of the state to legislate against that right (otherwise its not a right).

Even if I utterly disagree with everything someone says, as long as its not incitement, a criminal threat or conspiracy, then its legal.

Remember that Islamic terrorism and Islamic Fundamentalism has no political power in the UK to oppress or change our rights, laws and freedoms and never will. Only the state can do that. And that's what governments tend to do in these situations, make exceptions. Probably good ones, but then once the precident is set, you have people being ejected under those same anti-terrorist laws for disrupting the Labour conference or protesting arms trade shows.

Usually though it has more to do with the 'not following the forum rules', than political bias. Most people who get banned seem to have had it coming for quite some time.

Maybe those on the left respond better to warning cards.

Bunch of pussies.

The media should maybe stop reporting on incidents that are minor, as if they're the news. There were 40 people at that protest burning poppies, every newspaper carried it, for days and turned it into a major news item.

Meanwhile a huge student protest, tens of thousands, in London against tuition fees gets minor coverage and generally dismissed. And most of the news focused on a few trouble makers.

FUE, 2015.

Right wing posters are routinely banned on here. Can't ever remember a left wing poster being banned.

Its the influence of the pacifists. Also should that really contain the word fist.

Yet burning a Koran is - young man arrested in Yorkshire for it in December.
