I remember doing guard duty in different countries around the world during my stay in the army. I was not in the guards or anything like that just an infantry regiment. Anyway we carried pick axe handles with orders to beat the crap out of anyone who was suss. Now days I think they carry weapons, less troubled times in the 60's so everyone was seen as less of a threat. Force was what we were told we could use no one said it had to be reasonableT he guard in question on here should have stuck the bayonet up his @rse.

They are there to defend the Queen and the residence. If a tourist is being a nuisance it is reasonable for a guardsman to do what he did there. If that doesn't work he's allowed to detain the fool using force if need be.

One of these days there is going to be an almighty punch up.....And as long as he gave prior warning like here the soldier should be backed up.

They aren't there for tourist amusement.

Exactly....

The police should arrest anyone that abuses or interferes with Guardsmen doing their duty.

After all we weren't surprised when our stupid tourists were arrested and jailed for stripping off on the sacred mountain.

One day someone is going to be killed because of this stupidity... let's nip it in the bud now.
