It was all over the news but by definition it becomes more newsworthy in the UK when there are British citizens caught up in it

We have to stop fannying about. We need to get in and start wiping this scum off the earth.

We did that in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. Look how well that turned out. Why then are we surprised when, from the chaos, it comes back and bites us.

I think the question that may have to be asked is when do we step in to try to stop ISIS? If they decide to attack Turkey, for instance, and Turkey asks for military assistance should we ignore their plea?

If we do and then ISIS move to the next country, perhaps Bulgaria or Greece, do we ignore their pleas for help?

According to this article ISIS are targeting Bosnians. If this happens should we intervene? [Link]

I would hate to have to be the person that makes the decision.

We can't. Since all three are NATO members, all any one of them has to do is invoke Article 5 and everybody else in the Alliance are OBLIGATED to join the fight. NATO have already stated firmly that this would be the case.

This is like a cancer.

At some point we've got to "treat" it.

Up to now we've been applying plasters.

Hit 'em hard and take no prisoners.

Also for the boat people.... station warships off the coast and turn back all boats laden with refugees and so called asylum seekers. Deal with traffickers and smash their boats.

Sounds harsh, but we've no room or resources to look after these people.

If necessary we need to take over these rogue states and return them to normality.

ISIS and other terrorist groups are just exploiting a vacuum and causing unrest which motivates normal people to want to flee and seek refuge in Europe.

If we ignore this it won't go away.

Modern day Nazis, except now everyone who's not a muslim is a 'Jew'

The problem is how do you do it?

Interesting point. The longer we ignore this threat to the West, things will only get worse.

I propose that we hit them with the full force of our current defence capability. We start with a leaflet campaign and if that doesn't work we escalate it to tshirts, whist drives, street theatre. We need balloons and badges saying "ISIS no thanks, (whilst respecting your cultural riches and acknowledging our historic role in your repression)".

We have already tried that haven't we. There were no terrorists in Iraq (though there was a brutal dictator) We create chaos with an illegal war and hey presto now there are all sorts of terrorists there. Of course one of the reasons we thought Saddam might have weapons of mass destruction was because the west sold them to him. Ditto Afghanistan (where we armed the Taliban); ditto again Libya. The west is in danger of doing the same thing in pakistan where the US regularly bombs a country that is supposed to be an ally. What do you think the attitude in places like this when they see us kill their families.

So yes they are exploiting a vacuum but I wonder how that vacuum came about.

As for the boat people - who are at least partly associated with the chaos we have caused we have tried a policy of leaving them to drown. Thousands did and still they come. You can sink the boats rather than leaving them to drown but still they will come.

How the f*** we get out of this is beyond me but a repeat of if in doubt shoot it aint gonna work because it failed the last time.

its our fault as usual.
I love the 'illegal war' bulls***.

tell that to the families of relatives murdered by the filth, in Tunisia today.
Its becoming a common event now.
sleep walking into far worse.
(prefer hoofs antidote.)

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

Explain to me why "illegal war" is bulls***? Explain to me how it was legal

As for "tell that to the families" nonsense. It is precisely the blundering around the middle east shooting at people with no strategy as to why and what might happen afterwards that has led us to this mess. To think that the next step might be to keep doing it ...well. What was Einsteins definition of madness? Keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

If I were you I would be getting my phone out no and start apoligizing
