"He is also capable of using his strength and control to play off of other forwards, and hold up the ball with his back to goal, to lay it off for team-mates.[42][43] His former coach Zdeněk Zeman has described him as "a force of nature".

Would be a very, very clever signing indeed. Like a faster stronger Chamakh.

As he is from Argentina, Jules will show him how to be humble, loved and excellent.

Very clever scouting indeed and will be a secret weapon at a reasonable price!!!!

I think this could be great for him and us. We've got a great bunch of blokes (Speroni and Jedinak to name just a couple of many) who could support a nut job. The problem is having more than one nut job in a squad, or too many big ego's which is not an issue we would have. This bloke will be on best behaviour to repair damage to his reputation as well as be desperate to prove a point - free transfer, could be a wonder signing.

To be fair if he tried anything like he has in the past, I could think of at least 3 players who would cave his face in and throw him out. He'd stand no chance against Jedi, but I could also see Ledley smashing him about too. And Delaney looks like he has the kind of head you could hit for hours and not get any movement out of it.

jose fonte was a big lad

Why would you start a new thread about Osvaldo, then post something not about Osvaldo, on an Osvaldo thread? :/

Do keep up. Osvaldo was suspended by Southampton for fighting with Fonte. If our Jose can't keep the lad in check I for one don't think we have anyone in the team any tougher. So he won't get knocked into shape, ergo he is a liability.

I agree with Oghash a faster bigger Chamakh.

He needs support and attention he will get at Palace.

Take the risk! Sign him!

He isn't faster or bigger than chamakh , unless chamakh has shrunk.

But Pards is literally a nutter (excuse the pun) who wouldn't have any nonsense. Fonte is a big but said to be bit of a wimp when Pards tried it on with his missus.

That said, Osvaldo could be the maverick we've been missing. Yes, he would be a cheaper alternative (no signing fee and lower wages than Remy etc). The guys needs to get his career back on track and push for Euro 2016 so if it is a 2 year deal like rumoured then go for it.

He is a quality player but with a suspect temprement.

i say sign him but with a clause that if he steps out of line he's contract will be terminated

Palace are looking for a striker. Striker becomes available. Club becomes 'interested'. No quotes or even vague evidence.

Can't guarantee it's not true, but it's a very easy story to write for the couple of sources that have chosen to.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.
