Smokescreen

How about two new strikers coming on board, like two from Martin/Austin/Rhodes/Gestede/N'doye, and Gayle or Murray moving on to recoup part of the outlay?

Can't see us paying anything like that for him. He's one of the many good Championship players who will never quite make it at the next level.

In the striking pecking order he should be behind Chamakh, Murray, Gayle, and Campbell so no from me not good enough for the prem.

And the fact I can say that shows how far we have come that a player like Martin is by most considered not up to the job at Selhurst.

Good times.

Would of course be funny to see him play in 'Yellow', but that's one hell of an expensive joke. I thought he did alright for us on loan, but unless were planning on selling at least two strikers, I don't see him playing more than 10-15 minutes a week tops.

I seem to remember that Martin played 'in the hole' quite a lot rather than as a lone striker? In that scenario, given that Chamakh has got injured a lot, he could fill that position? Also, he has proven at championship level, to be a decent goal scorer? So this line of arguement leads me to the admittedly farfetched conclusion that Martin could turn out to be a goalscoring version of Chamakh...then again...!

Chamakh isn't first choice anymore. I think Punch has that spot nailed on at the moment. It's an out and out goal scorer we need.

the dignified don't even enter in the game
