The lack of media noise around possible transfers probably indicate they won't be marquee signings. You'd have assume one is Alex McCarthy. I suspect the other could be a little uninspiring, probably a youth player.

Well maybe, just maybe we are signing Pato I know it my sound crazy but since this morning there is all sorts of buzzing about Pato being proposed to Crystal Palace and West Ham... I suppose the other signing is no one else than McCarthy or a new defender...

A wild guess: a double swoop from QPR for Austin and McCarthy. I think it'd be difficult to conclude negotiations with two clubs in one day so the possibility of two players from one club makes a certain amount of sense. So far as I can tell, QPR appear to be in England right now which makes being on the plane possible. We've been linked with both players and Austin seems to want to stay in London. We also have players QPR want/need who could easily form part of the part of the transfer. Lastly, I doubt Parish would say this if it wasn't very near done. NOTE: This is a wild guess on my part. Just fun really. I want to join in with your fun and hope you're right.

Do you we have confirmation Bamford is in the States with Chelsea? Warren Houghton (yes, yes...I know) said he didn't go and doesn't feature in their preseason plans. If he's still here, then Bamford and then probably McCarthy. If it's Bamford and Austin...I'll need some more screen wipes.

I now think one is Bamford. Didn't go to America with Chelsea ( [Link] ) and I am sure they would rather get him moved quickly if he's going on a loan than waste time. Edited by sydtheeagle (20 Jul 2015 3.23pm)

Surely McCarthy and Bamford. McCarty has been going on for weeks and I've seen some tweets saying this will be done this week and Bamfords odds have us 4/9 on, I know that dont mean anything but there's been a lot of talk about this deal today as well from different media outlets. It definitely won't be Austin or Remy to big names for us not to know anything at all, 24 hours before Cabaye signed the Internet was going mental with done deal however unreliable and with so many teams after Austin there would be more on the Internet from there supporters.
