Rickie Lambert is 'not' an upgrade on Murray and/or Gayle. With Bamford he is not needed. He has slowed right down and is to old now. Spot on post, in my opinion Completely wrong in my opinion. Lambert would represent an upgrade on everything we have. The question for me is whether it is a sufficient upgrade to justify the outlay. Lambert is a goalscorer. And has already scored goals regularly in the premier league (2012-13: 15 league, 2013-14: 13). He can lead the line, is a clever player, can take penalties and freekicks, and is terrific in the air.

I think he is worth a 12 month punt using SOME of the £2.5m 'bonus' money the Chamakha goal vs. Swansea got us on the last day of the season. Mixing it up at the front could pay for itself if we lift ourselves a place or two
