we've been terrific in the window so far but we need another centre-back, happy for Damo and Dann to start for the time being but we need a BPL worthy CB to match the depth that we have in other positions...

This post has been merged from a topic called 'please god a cb!!!' by Moose I know everyone keeps saying we need a new centre back and I would agree in respect of cover as I do not have that much confidence in Brede or Kelly. But, as far as DD and Dann go, what exactly have they done so wrong for people to say we need to replace one of them and unanimous verdict seems to be Delaney. I watched the game on Sat and many games from last season, and I thought they were extremely solid. Most of Norwichs attacks that caused us trouble came down our left, as their right back pushed well forward and Souare and Puncheon didn't look comfortable together. When Zaha went over there, we were much better, but maybe more because Zaha was fantastic. Their goal was a 25 yarder. Hoolahan was finding space all of the time too and if 1st choice remains McArthur and Cabaye, then they will need to gel better positionally but don't think they were helped by Mutch. So, I think we should change our negativity towards our CBs, Dann and Delaney are a great partnership. We must hope they stay fit...

She's presently available and she certainly looks like she could clog things up in the middle. Also has a football ethos; understands brown envelopes with cash in them by all accounts.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'please god a cb!!!' by Moose I'd only want us to buy one that we actually want, fits into system well, and compliments what we already have. AP seems to be happy with what we have, and so do I to be honest. Last thing we need is a signing just for the sake of it. It'll be interesting to see how Innis comes along, because IF we can make the step up and progress then we don't need to sign anyone, but that's more of a long term view.

We need someone good to go now. Delaney and Hangeland are very both good, but we need someone to compliment Dann, maybe with a bit more speed so that we defend breakaways better. Ideally someone confident on the ball who can pass it out and with good positioning. We need them able to form a long term partnership with Dann.
