Thatcher snatched milk from kids, where as Ted Heath milked on kids snatches....

I don't easily go into bat for Thatcher but the idea that she would tolerate known child molesters doesn't hang together with her known prejudices. This the woman who opposed any relaxation in the recruitment of gay people to the security services, who apparently passed single men over for promotion and was so up her own arse that she refused to appoint men with beards.
The idea that she would shrug her shoulders over a known paedo just doesn't ring true.

See, I keep telling people she wasn't that bad

What puzzles me is why they are spending so much time and using up police resources (when they can't now even attend a burglary) on digging up the dirt on a man who died 10 years ago....... hardly likely to get a conviction now are they?

His biographer after much research found him to be asexual and still, perhaps, a virgin well into his fifties. No viagra in them days either.

Something fishy going on here.

I reckon Thatcher knew. Thatcher knew about Saville, she knew about Brittan.

I think if one thing has come out about the past, a lot of people seemed to be pretty much ok with paedophiles (in the church, entertainment industry and government).

Harriet Harman, Patricia Hewitt and Jack Dromey certainly were...

I don't know, they dug Cromwell up and hanged him after he was dead.

Totally agree becks.

How much money has been spent on Saville's investigation?

The Bow Street Runners were set up to catch criminals in the act...... not to investigate crimes decades old and the perpetrators long since died.

Isn't that what social workers are for?

I thought the police were there to prevent crime not help victims get "closure".

Shouldn't the crimes be investigated as there could be people who are alive today who could be linked and guilty? There are certainly victims who are alive that would like to see these vile people investigated.

Saville investigation flushed out other celeb's victims and saw them prosecuted, there are a lot of people in powerful places who have stuff of this sort to answer for. Police not bothering with burglaries is down to the massive cuts in their numbers, social workers can only investigate to a certain level, the Police have to take it from there.
