Only downside I can see is this implies we've signed the 3-5 we were after but still no CB

Totally out of the blue and not a Player I know anything about so will rely on those of you that do.
We do seem a little overloaded in these areas though so maybe players are about to leave as well.

we are not overloaded with fast wingers.

Puncheon is better central and chung lee is about all we have to back up Yannick and Wilf, so this guy will push the other two big time.

Really cool signing, but I think it would have been wiser to invest in a defender.

We should sort out a loan for someone like Mutch because there will be pretty limited opportunities in the attacking midfielder role.

Agred- think we really need a centre back but alas, we shall see. Plenty of 4-3's to Palace this year hopefully!

Maybe Pards feels we have enough experience and cover with the CB's we have - Dann, Delaney, Handgeland, Kelly (who has stated himself it's his preferred position), and Mariappa.. and thats without the good youngsters we probably have waiting in the wings

If we spend the whole season letting in 3, but scoring 4 I will be a very happy man with little to no sperm left in me by the end of the season

Wolves supporting mate says as follows. This guy is in his 60s, has followed Wolves from birth, is level headed and knows his football. He agrees most of the positives hyped up about this guy, but we need to also see the negatives.

He is one-footed; he is unbalanced; and he is hopeless at tracking back. His defensive role seems to consist of little more than "getting in the way". He will concede dozens of free kicks. In short, he is not of Prem quality, let along top half. Thus, Yala back-up and no more.

I am merely passing on what I have heard.

Of course, taking into account your last sentance, still hard to believe someone that made the PFA 14/15 Championship Team of the Year is so bad

Let's not forget we have Millen to continue the defensive teamwork and training and in Dann and hopefully an improving Kelly decent young centre halves.
I love the Pardew offensive approach but signing another winger does not imply we are poorer at the back.

Regardless though I still think we have one more defensive signing to come.

“On his first day at Palace he told me he wanted to play for England, a bold statement for someone who had just walked in off a Building site!”

Steve Coppell on Ian Wright
