I don't know wether he has his own thread in here but , I've just seen on Ssn that wba are ready to off load him when they sign another defender , could we give him a go ?

Not sure if he would add anything to the squad. Delaney and Dann have worked up a partnership and Hangeland is more than capable back up.

Think Pardew would evaluate players himself before moving for them, not let another manager's valuation of the player control whether or not he would sign him. Lescott's solid, but he's 33 and invariably not a player we've shown interest in. Pretty sure by now we'll have a shortlist of targets (if any!) and only if it were a spectacular player who was suddenly transfer listed or pioneering for a move (the proverbial no-brainer, Cabaye-esque signing), would we consider altering that shortlist.

Delaney really isn't playing badly enough for us to go for just any Premier League defender. He's so under appreciated it's crazy. Lescott's main attributes are being good in the air, left footed and a good positional sense. His downfall is his lack of pace. Doesn't that sound incredibly similar to a certain Irish centre back? If someone considerably better comes up like Williams or Fonte then fair enough but we don't really need Delaney, Hangeland and Lescott at our club.

Still think Martin Kelly is more a CB that a full back and could be Dann's long term partner, but Damo is immense at the moment.
