A Pedestrian automatically has right of way when on the road.

Doesn't make them less of a c*** for just stepping out, but if they're in the road, you must give way.

I blame Chris Hoy and Bradley Wiggins...now every cyclist in London (or out in the glorious countryside at the weekends) in all their Lycra Team Sky full kit w@nkerdom believes they have some good given right to charge around like they are in the team pursuit at the London Olympics and that their ridiculous helmet and camera makes them impervious to the tons of metal they share the road with...they now see themselves as a victimised minority...cnuts

That's the difference. No one takes that mentality on foot.

As someone who both cycles and drives to work there are c***s on boths sides of the debate.

As a cyclist it REALLY pisses me off when I wait at lights only to see another cyclist going straight through them...I'd love for them to be caught and given an on the spot fine...but until bikes have RFID chips in them its not going to happen very often.

Having said that it leaves me speechless at times the sheer lack of awareness that drivers have safe in their co**** and ignorance...I have to say it but by FAR the worse are Mothers doing the school run. Car doors flinging open without looking, overtaking you to only then park up in front of you 5secs later; pulling out on you half way because they're under some illusion that the rules of the road can be ignored if its a cyclist being inconvenienced.

As I said...both have bad examples..

I am with you mate. Cyclist on cyclist can be pretty bad. I have taken to riding a Boris bike twice a day. The lycra clad cycle Gods almost to a man or woman treat me like pond life. I had one completely T bone me a few days ago, I shouted and he swore. I wish I hadn't put the brakes on and just hit him but he was a giant with a classic cyclist's physique so maybe best to just move on.

The day is not complete unless I have had a good hard shout at a car driver though. And scaffold trucks scare the living daylights out of me. Them and tippers, it's tippers that almost always are the vehicles that kill cyclists. Many bus drivers are b******s of course as well, there is certainly a war between buses and bikes.

i ride everyday in central London and cyclists come in two types. The good and considerate type who consider themselves road users with rights but not "the sole right" to behave how they want. The second type is pig ignorant of how to be part of a very busy road system. Leaving the house dressed in lycra and donning a large piece of polystyrene on your head does not allow you to jump red lights, shout at pedestrians and cut up the inside of large trucks. If cyclists had to pass a test to be allowed to ride a bike then some would be less ignorant and self righteous about other road users. Add into that boris bike users who tend to be part time cyclists in london and you are mixing a cocktail of death and disaster.

Ah, classic, a Borisist. The commuter Boris bikers tend to be good cyclists, don't confuse us with the day trippers. Now people on fold-up bikes, don't get me started...
