People don't really think we should just give the Falklands back do they ?

The Argentinians have no valid claim over the islands whatsoever They do currently belong to us so why should that change ?
Shall we give The US back to the so called Natives while we are at it ?

I think its up to the people who live on the Falkland Islands to decide, which they did - So I am happy with that.

No one has valid claim over any country except the people who live there, as a whole.

I wouldn't really compare it to the US and Native Americans, because there wasn't a huge scale genocide perpetuated on the indigenous people of the Falklands.

I supported the liberation of the Falklands not because they were British, but because a fascist Argentina Junta decided they would be Argentine.

The point is that most countries were occupied by someone else in the past.
The Argentinian attack was an unprovoked attack on British territory. I don't care what their politics was. That makes no difference.

Any politician who denies this for votes is a bellend.

Not these islands though, rather pertinently.

The Norman invasion and arguably William of Orange's coup represent occupation.

I think he means the Falklands, which had no indigenous population.

Incidently the Celts were the first known occupiers of the British Isles, probably from the picts (which means in celtic, before us).

Crass and stupid attention seeker but he hasn't dropped a barrel bomb on a load of children. Ignore him.

Funny how your defending him as a lefty, if it was someone from the right making equally crass comments about immigrants you'd be slaughtering them.

The lefts hypocrissy knows no bounds.

As you say nothing worse than some people have written about refuges on these boards. However, I don't like either of them.

To be honest Weston has a point, but Corbyn's plan isn't to handed to Argentina but share ownership which I find just as unpalatable but more factually correct.

No. Barking up the wrong tree on that one. I am saying there are more important issues at the moment than paying attention to some insecure rent-a-gob. Which is exactly what you have done. And he will be loving every word of it.

I can't quite believe what bile some people post on here. Seymour's comments about Simon Weston are completely unacceptable and do not represent anything but that writers own views, but that hasn't stopped some bloggers on here tarring virtually all left wingers with the same brush. No evidence is given to support such claims but when did evidence or reasoned argument ever matter?

Has anyone actually looked at what Simon Weston is supposed to have responded to? This is a right wing rant against Jeremy Corbyn cooked up by the Telegraph based on comments made by Corbyn over two years ago, that don't actually represent Labour Party policy and also don't state that Corbyn wants to hand the Falklands over to Argentina. He simply suggested that seeking negotiated solutions to international problems is better than fighting wars - but then printing the reality behind some concocted rubbishing of a left wing politician would be a step too far for our right wing bigoted press.

As for gassing anyone who expresses views you might disagree with, that's a comment that is beneath contempt!

This "thing" is the epitome of a generation that believes their point of of view is correct and that anything that vies either left or right is wrong. He does not have the commitment to become a journalist and thus spouts abusive trite to justify his self importance. Anyone with half a brain knows exactly what he is about...an offensive bigot.
