I'm very anti Royal but on a personal level I wish her all the best.

I would be more than happy to wave goodbye to the very silly and quasi fascist idea of Royal ascension but I suppose half the country might be owned by oil sheiks if the "Windsors" cleared out.

I think that probably the time has come to pack up the whole feudal nonsense and let them blend into the existing European royalty circuit or something similar.

Anachronistic in the extreme, but harmless. She's really I suppose the last of them that you'd really call a monarch, the others are too much of the modern world.

Still a cracking tourist attraction though.
Whilst the historical sites would still exist, nobody goes to Amsterdam to see the official residence of the Dutch royals, because they are now completely irrelevant.

I can't see King Charles the Turd racking up the tourists, or Will 'nice but Dim'. The pagentry is great but I can't see it really working with William and Kate Windsor. They're too in touch, too ordinary seeming to have that aloofness that an elite requires.

He doesn't have to be Charles III. And i'll bet they do still rack up the tourists, particularly so for the Coronation and all that.

What do you mean, nope. We're talking about the future first of all and secondly whether they will still attract tourism. Which they undoubtedly do, and, i believe, they still will in the future. Which was my point.

I love the Queen and the Royal Family. Long may they reign over us.

Little to back that up. They don't, and won't. At least not as significantly as the Windsor PR team will have you believe.

I can post the top 20 attractions in the UK for the last decade which included a Royal wedding and Royal residencies and attractions do not appear. Nothing suggests that is about to change.

I couldn't care less where they rank in attractions.

They attract tourism and will continue to do so in the future.

In no way would I describe myself as a Royalist, but, I have to say she has done a remarkable job - and a job that she had no choice in taking on.

She has always conducted herself with a quiet dignity, shown no apparent favouritism to any political party, avoided any temptations to speak out on issues and therefore alienate herself among sections of society, and has , during her reign, tirelessly travelled this country and the rest of the world as our had of state.

Also, she has almost single handedly prevented the monarchy from self-destructing thanks to the shenanigans of certain of its members.

So, whatever you may think of the monarchy as an institution, within its own points of reference and requirements of the occupant of the throne, I think she has been exceptional.

Personally, i feel that is because they are largely exempt from media scrutiny.

The rags in this country seemingly have no issue planting submersible camera's in Kerry Katona's toilet, but the minute a picture of Kate's tit's surface, there's a media blackout.

They enjoy a hell of a lot more privacy then some with their social status normally would, and should. In fact, the level of bias in the media is borderline criminal. The birth of Prince George for example, we were treated to centre fold spreads explaining the important role of Kate's endless amounts of aid's, funded by the taxpayer, who were deemed so important to helping her get through the birth of her child for no other apparent reason other then she said so. And this was being celebrated.

Compare that with the outrage of an MP buying a plant pot on expenses and you get the point.

We pay a lot of money for these b******s, i demand an album of sphincter shots!
