I genuinely despair when I look at this site sometimes.
Less than the number of children I've educated through paying tax, despite having no kids? Plus I suspect many would prefer to work.

It's a timebomb. Loads of sympathy now for refugees and lots of we'll take all these people in. Five years time when their initial plight has been forgotten there will be huge complaints about the cost and effect on communities, Europe wide not just here. What do you do though you can't just ignore their plight but you can't just let everybody in and pay for the rest of their and their children's lives. Tough call.

In terms of Refuges, the case for acceptance is that its usually a tiny blip on the migration data. In the last 10 years the averages of asylum cases has always been lower than the numbers of emigration from the UK, so its very much sustainable. Even in the highest recorded year of Asylum cases, the figure fell below this average. The issue for the UK has never been asylum - It has always been non-refugee migration, of which EU Right to Work makes up 42% of the current figure. Around 122,000 British Citizens leave the UK every year, with the average number of successful asylum applications being around 24,000. Another 200,000 or so non-British nationals leave the UK each year, but in total around half a million come to the UK. We need to tackle 'migration for corporate profit', aka economic migration. We've never really had a economic or social problem with Refugees and Asylum in the UK - except with specific individuals.

I don't think you could really rate Saudi or Kuwait as a safe state for Syrian citizens anyhow, given that both countries have a long hatred of the Syrian regime (not to mention a dubious association with a number of individuals of these countries being associated with funding 'Rebel factions' read IS). Asking Saudi Arabia to take Syrians, would have been like asking Iran to take Sunni Baathists.

My first thoughts..... Most of the countries like Poland are two faced... it's okay for their people to be economic migrants and hordes have settled here... yet they don't want anyone in their country! What is the point of dividing up these refugees/migrants between countries? If they are accepted as EU citizens they will be free to travel wherever they want won't they? Finally, I think the amounts arriving every day is beyond acceptable and Europe cannot cope. Our borders need re-instating asap. Why is it deemed Europe's problem? These are middle eastern and African people. Other continents can share the load.

It makes more sense for them to go to Lebanon than Europe.
