We need a striker, granted, but our midfield is pretty poor. We don't have enough technical ability in there, no real strength and no goals.
£25m for Bolasie is something you can't say no to because, let's face it, Yala could be brilliant but wasn't anywhere near being effective.
I think Cabaye is decent, but we need more from midfield, so, Sissoko would do that for us.

If Pardew can get him to play, this is another no-brainer. Could be a very big 'if', though.

a signing very much in the tomkins mould, about our level and an upgrade on jedi/ledley and i know its harsh but also an upgrade on jimmy mac.

much like tomkins is a sensible upgrade on delaney

The only way I see this happening is if Newcastle drop the asking price. I don't see them doing that

I wouldn't sign any player that would have us as a club.

The last manager to get him playing well on a regular basis is AP. Having said that, is our scouting network as limited as AP's old players and top-end Premier League rejects?

Everton and Inter are sniffing around, according to the Beeb.

Newcastle say they have had no approach from us and would only let him go for £35m!!

What a challenge for Del boy Parish to try and 'negotiate' a new, lower price (with add ons,of course !!)

35 mil is effectively not selling him to anyone bar the super rich clubs. He's a decent player on his day but I believe he is in his thirties. He's also playing for a relegated team in the Championship. Although he did well enough to stand out there - he didn't do enough to keep them up.

Thought he was aged 28 ,but would rather have kept Jedi than pay our £35m.
We have needed a decent striker for a while now and still no nearer to getting one or two over the line, with time running out to do so.

We need a player like him to change our very predictable style of play. He maybe a gamble, but Pardew must know how to get him playing.
The main issue we have is, a very one dimensionable style, teams have worked us out, we need to change, he could be the answer.
Unfortunately I doubt we will get him.
