I wouldn't mind so much If it were proper working class people protesting. The only problem? Well working class people were erm working. This is the usual bunch of middle class tossers you nearly always get at these sort of march's Oh & quelle surprise man of the people and haven't had a hit in 30 years singer & activist Billy Bragg was there.

I don't think billy braggs credentials can be called in to question , he has always been at various protests all his career and as for not having a " hit" I really don't think its his thing. its a pity more bands/artists don't nail there political colours to the mast as he has , they are a bunch of bed wetting , scared to harm their sales w***ers . music should be about protest , I don't think we have had any one coming out and saying what they think since the clash , very sad state of affairs

Yeah, he's had a long career as well, across generations, and a lot of critical appraisal. The Mermaid Avenue Albums for example, with Wilco.

I don't believe I would like the type of people that would go to a cereal bar and think it's ok. A bit like Costa Coffee w@nkers. Corporate consuming idiots who don't mind being ripped off and help drag society down.

What about pizza and ice cream?

Pizza, whilst ridiculously expensive for what is a piece of bread and some tomato sauce, is just about forgivable even if it is £9.99 as I am guessing the majority don't know how to make a good one at home. Ice cream is pretty inexpensive in most places - £2 for four Magnums in a supermarket - so easy to avoid the traders marking it up to something stupid like £2.50 each or summat.

West country pizzas sound s***. Our's come with cheese and additional toppings. Two for Tuesday is a good deal too.

I bought a pack of Snickers ice cream recently, and inside I discovered I won another box. In the free box, I won another box.

And in the last box, you won diabetes?

I haven't opened them yet. They're useful to find out which of your friends have a nut allergy though.

Optimistic as ever

Most people seem to be allergic to my nuts....

BB is a bit of an enigma to me - I vehemently disagree with pretty much ALL of his politics, but really appreciate his music as being lyrically very good. I don't need to know someone's politics to appreciate their music, and I certainly don't need to agree with their politics.

Finding out three was a deep hidden meaning to it didn't stop me enjoying Rolf Harris' "Two Little Boys" either

I actually prefer his love songs to his political songs (which are probably more social than political in the most part). Greetings to the New Brunette, Mother of the Bride or New England for example.

I'd challenge anyone to listen to 'St. Swithins' day and not be moved, and find something of their own experiences of love in it.
