Of course without the actions of Tony Blair and New Labour in pursuing the invasion of Iraq, there would be no IS (or at least its capacity would have been relatively insignificant). For me, Labour isn't imploding, its actually becoming something other than a mockery of the reasons people like Kier Hardy formed it in the first place. Perhaps, but it is also moving away from being electable. Even Tory hardcore supporters would probably prefer a stronger opposition. That could be UKIP next time round. I'd rather the opposition was unelectable, than consisting of a cheap photocopy rip off. New Labour disgusted me, at least the Conservatives actually stand for something, it might be something I don't generally agree with, but its actually something.

New Labour were all about getting elected and staying in power, for its own sake. For me that's a very dangerous mentality, and ultimately UK service men and Iraqis paid a very high price (that we're still experiencing the fall out from).

I don't like The Conservative party, but I don't actually hate them. Where as I would join a queue to rape Tony Blair.

Funnily enough whilst I don't agree with Corbyn I prefer him to Blair. Blair made me feel left wing!!

At least there is now a clear difference between the parties, my only disappointment is Tim Fallon is as much use as a pork pie in a bar mitzvah

If by wage slaves you mean we have to work harder to earn money to spend on things we enjoy doing then yes, we're all wage slaves. Do you think everything should be free and not earnt? No incentives in this world for anyone? No liberty for us to do as we please and spend our hard-earned on what we please? Grow up. What happens if we work harder to earn money just to survive? No luxuries just enough to pay the rent, utilities and basic food? Such as the lady on Question Time was trying to explain to the panel last night. She voted Conservative as she thought they would give her the best chance to advance and they have clearly let her and her family down due to the Tax Credit cuts. Punishing the working families for being in work and between them - the mum and dad - for being on much less than average earnings. The only socio-economic group immune to the cuts by the Tories seem to be those who can actually afford it the most. Higher rate tax lowered from 50p to 45p a while back. First things first, I think the tax credit cut is a completely daft move. If you're going to cut tax credits, do it at a pace that is matched by a raise in the minimum wage. I don't like tax credits as a concept and I think dependency on them is a very bad thing for our society, but I agree that since people currently are dependent on them, this should be gradually reduced rather than slashed and I think the government has got this one badly wrong as the minimum wage hasn't been raised to match the cut in benefit. With regard to the 50p rate being cut, Labour had it at 40p for pretty much their whole term in office and then raised it a couple of months before a general election as a trap for the Tories. I think it's wrong to take extra income tax off the wealthy when it's been proven that it doesn't actually raise any money. What I want the treasury to do is maximise their income whilst also keeping as much money in our economy as possible. If we have competitive taxes, the wealthy are more likely to live here, pay taxes here and most importantly spend their money here. I don't believe in symbolic taxation, I believe in pragmatism. What I really object to is statements such as "we are now all wage-slaves" for the reasons I've already explained. Capitalism has seen progress in wealth at every level, and yes everything we have in life must be earned, even if it's tough. If someone could tell me where this fantasy alternative is, where everyone gets everything they want without having earned it, then I'd love to see it. I don't think it exists. The problem with socialism is they assume that you can create wealth at the bottom by diminishing it at the top, and it has been proven time and again that it does. not. work. This list goes on and on..... Meanwhile, the tories have accepted £60mill linked to hedge funds and private health. And, it appears, The UK Statistics Authority has repeatedly warned the Tory government to stop lying over immigration, debt, unemployment, benefit caps, NHS spending and A&E performance. We are being had, aren't we? We're all in it togeather, except of course the corporations, the priviliged and the wealthy. Even the middle classes, a traditional bastion of conservatism are being squeezed. Whilst we argue, left no right, the corporate state marches onwards making wage-slaves of us all. Sorry, but what a load of horse s*. You want something in life, you have to work for it, that's the way it has always been. The difference now is more people seem to think they are owed something for being born. You could always drop out and go and live in a tepee Not for all of us You're a bit older than I imagined. I doubt whether the Duke of Westminster has ever had** to do a days work in his life. Not so much born with a silver spoon in his mouth more the deeds to a silver mine. Well yes he is rather rich. I can't be arsed to research how his family made their money but I am not against the principal of hereditary wealth. Why if I work my arse off should the state get all my hard earned and not my family. Why shouldn't I be able to make sure that I provide for them when I'm worm food? the dignified don't even enter in the game
