Cinemas banning Lords Prayer advert

It's Christmas the clue is in the name. You can stick your coca cola Christmas up your arse. It is unbelievable that leading up to Christmas something as simple as the Lords Prayer is not allowed to be advertised but everyone creams their pants over Waitrose / John Lewis whatever adverts. I am not religious but we are a Christian country, why shouldn't the Lord's Prayer be advertised. If it's that big a deal go buy a kiaora whilst it's on.

Yeah I kind of agree - it's called CHRISTmas after all. I think that if you're into Christ and believe in the story etc, you deserve the celebration. But if you don't, well then it's taking the piss / a bit hypocritical to celebrate Christmas. A bit 'having your cake and eating it too'....type vibe.

"In a statement, DCM said it had a policy of not accepting political or religious advertising content in its cinemas." Which of course is the correct decision. Christmas is a rip off of far older pagan traditions anyway.

Christmas means different things to different people, blame the church for purposely blurring it all together if you like, but just let each person have it as they want it.

Watery, orange coloured sugar but delicious in its day. Used to make a fantastic noise when you sucked through the straw to get to the bottom of the carton. Best of all you could tread on the empty plastic carton to be even more irritating. Oh happy days! Lord's Prayer - religion is about communities and religious tolerance is all about exposure to different religions in order to understand them. However, everything has its place. Tolerance of Kia-ora is enough for cinema goers to be getting on with.

We are not a Christian country either (Church and State were separated hundreds of years ago) and how exactly is a prayer an advert, that seems gauche to me. Should religion even be advertising - what is it selling? This gods is for you? The Unreal thing, St Julian, reaches the spiritual parts other saints cannot reach. Rather absurd, and it demeans the nature and essence of Religion to advertise in a commercial spot.

Does anybody still go to cinemas these days? Crazily expensive nowadays. Overpriced, and invariably full of very s**t movies devoid of any aesthetic value. But in about six weeks time they'll be ramming them in for the new Star Wars movie.

Christ was apparently God's son (if you are a believer, not to be confused with a beleiber) Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ, well is meant to before it became sponsored by Coca Cola and American films for TV with characters with the surname Cringle. So as Christmas is a religious time it is connected. As for whether we are a Christian country, in 2010 64% of people identified themselves as Christian.
