Thanksgiving, the Turkey strikes back..........

Chris, I think the Russian jets have been based in Syria.

There will be a lot of sabre rattling but the irony is both Russia & Turkey haven't really been that anti ISIS. They both have their own agendas, Turkey bombing more Kurds than ISIS and Russia propping up Bashar al-Assad

Ok I thought they were coming from the Black Sea.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you'll find they are based at Bassel Al-Assad Airport at Latakia in Syria, where the Russians have beefed up their present's in the last 6 months, they are not being allowed to fly over Turkey who have repeatedly warned them about incursions into Turkeys airspace, now perhaps they take notice.

I'm sure you're right - less reason to fly over Turkey, let's hope Russia doesn't escalate otherwise NATO will have to get involved - where's Trident!!?

Sitting at the bottom of the ocean, running silent, with its pre-programmed missiles, awaiting a confirmed destruction of the UK, or orders to launch from the Prime minister or nuclear deputies.

Once again the PC brainwashed have diddly to say regarding the topic, but plenty to say regarding a comment that irks their pathetic sensibilities.
Grow up ffs.

The Istanbul Government does support the local indigenous ethnic Turk population.

The ignorance here is amazing.

Meanwhile ISIS rub their hands together and watch the "West" fall apart.

So Turkey is now part of the 'west'?? Who knew.

They are part of NATO and have by far the largest standing army outside of the US.
So yes, they are part of the "West".

That doesn't make them a Western country, just as being part of NATO doesn't mean you're based in the North Atlantic.

The "West" can mean many things. Being part of NATO is being allied to the so called West as opposed to the so called East. Since the World is a globe the terms East and West in terms of countries are dependent on where you are situated. In ideological terms, The "West" is a fairly flexible term.

Turkey is an alliance to the West. But it's an ambiguous term I'll admit seeing as Oz and NZ are Western nations.

They do indeed, the Russian war plane had been attacking the Turkman group which is supported by Turkey.

Instead of spouting his venom Putin should now realise, if little boys play with the big boys they can and do get hurt.

Still painfully ignorant of the geopolitics of the region and the alliances on the ground.

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

Once again Hoof, your ignorance and borderline racism on the matter continues to astound me.

Turkey do have a lot to answer for, particularly in their aggressive position against the Kurds, who are one of the major forces preventing IS from spreading further into Northern Syria and Iraq. But few nations have more to fear from IS than Turkey, given that IS follow a prophetic line which explicitly mentions retaking Istanbul.

Oh, and of course we could go in to the fact that IS are a far greater threat to Shia Muslims than to white Christians, or the fact that in Yemen IS bombed a mosque full of Zaidi Sunnis as well, or the fact that every single group on the ground fighting IS are predominantly Muslim. But then I guess it's much easier just to be a racist isn't it?

Right... stop calling me a racist every time I post something it is getting boring and tedious.

Is Turkey a Muslim country?

Are ISIS a Muslim terrorist army?

Even you cannot argue that the answer to both questions is yes, so what I have written is fact.

You may not like what I say, but when it is factual you have no right or cause to call me a racist.

Grow up man.

Just when did Muslim get classified as a race ?

Sorry mate your talking shyte, on the one hand you claim Hoof is ignorant, then you proceed to accept what a bunch of b******s they are to the Kurds ?

Make your mind up time.

Hoof is ignorant because he is clumping all Muslims together with no attempt to understand the intricacies of a religion which around 20% of the world adhere to. The Kurds and Turkey is actually a classic example of this: although both are nominally secular, each is predominantly Muslim, and yet rather than all singing from the same hymn sheet as Hoof seems to think they do, they are engaged in a war which goes back almost a hundred years.

And Islamophobia is very clearly racialised. I think this article is pretty good in summing up why: [Link]

Hoof is getting a bit cheesed off with a plonker that keeps calling him ignorant unjustifiably.

Muslims are a problem to world peace, whether they are the peoples front of Judea or the Judean Peoples front (apologies to Monty Python).

Not only can they not decide who is right and who is wrong about the prophet mohammed and whether he had cornflakes for breakfast - they are prepared to kill each other over it and the rest of us for not believing in any of it FFS.

You are an irritating twerp that over thinks every situation you debate on.

Do one.
