It's 10k more than Cabaye gets paid so not that unlikely and £30m on a player with all the money in The Premier League I'd imagine every team in the league is capable of making an offer like that! Let's face it as soon as a fee and wages were agreed we were always going to get gazumped! I tell you what though if we can get Benteke its not a bad second prize is it?

I think we've done rather well with signings that have been cheap, but where we've paid over a million for players the record has been poor. Jedi, McArthur, Bolaise, Puncheon, Dann, Delanney, Ward etc all cheap signings, all good. Its about getting the right player, not the best or most expensive player.
