If he was that good, and I don't think he is he would have been snapped up long ago. And anyway we are so slow to do deals in any transfer window he would have been long gone to another club while we were still down at W H Smiths buying a pen to sign the contract with.

Has this been proven? Or is it just a case of trying to get value for money. When you buy a car, do you just buy the first one you see or do you wait, shop around etc?

This myth that we are awful in the transfer window is just that - a myth! For some reason, fans seem to wet their knickers every time a transfer window opens and think we should be out there spending money just for the sake of it. Every transfer window we have brought players in at the right time, for the right money - or would you rather we be ripped off and spend £8m on the likes of Lewis Grabban?

^This. Sounds like a few of our so-called "fans" have ideas above their station.

I like being called a so called " fan " I will remember that the next time the club want some money to sponser a game as they did against Preston N.E. when we were in admin and I gave my 25 quid. And anyway this board is about opinions and thats mine.

Nothing wrong with an opinion, it's the sense of entitlement thaf really grinds my gears. And if we're so slow in the transfer window, then did the January 2014 window slip your mind?

Austin at 4 million v. Rhodes at 12 million ?
I know who I'd have gone for.
Got horrible feeling we will look mugs when Charlie is fit, playing and banging in the goals like last season.

See we are 2 to 1 on to get Adebayor (please no!) and 8 to 1 for Remy (please yes)

Murray back on loan would seem as good a move as any - or have AP/SP got someone specal lined up below the radar?

I wouldn't mind a punt on Rhodes. He his 26 next month so needs to kick start his career. Just looked at his record 181 goals in 337 games, pretty impressive. He would be a rarity at our club as well, a striker who knows where the net is.

He has scored 9 goals this season.
Blackburn have found it difficult to score of late, only scoring 2 goals in their last 7 games.Think they will score tonight, away to Newport County in the FA Cup.

Would be happy to have a punt on Rhodes rather than Adebyor!

Looks like he could be on his way to Sheffield Wed if reports are right.

I think it's Southampton who look like mugs and will remain that way unless Austin does amazingly well. I've heard they are paying him £110,000 a week!
They may have got him on a cheap transfer fee, they are certainly making up for it in overpaying wages.
At that weekly cost Saints are very welcome to him

Blackburn are 2 1 up with Rhodes getting their second.
