The Croydon Advertiser is now saying that we have accepted a bid from Swansea for Gayle. If we sell him and don't buy a replacement I will be very unhappy as Adebayor could well be an inspired buy but he could also be a dud and shrewd management would be to have a plan B just in case he's the latter.

AP looks as if he won't play Gayle on a regular basis whether he's any good or not. That being the case we might as well get some money in the bank and his wage off the books, and he might as well go somewhere he'll actually get a game.

Gayle would have resale value for Swansea whereas Gomis is already over 30 and is not a long term solution (and neither is adebayor). If we sell Gayle would rather get a loan striker in for cover and reassess in the summer....in any case Frazier Campbell played well yesterday and is due a bit of luck soon...

With Wickham, Adebayor and Gomis all chasing one spot could really get the best out of all of them. Wickham has to improve his goalscoring, Adebayor is short term and may not even be able to last the pace, Gomis more a longer term prospect. Could easily sparkle off each other.
