A dramatic day for brexit as the PM gets tough over the calorific content of pizzas.

That will show Johnny Foreigner we mean business.

After the latest rumours I think she should change her song from Dancing Queen to Hotel California. Brexit feels like you can checkout anytime but you can never leave.

Brexit Speculation:

A big week for the PM I am interested in what you think is going to happen, whether you are a remainer or leaver. Note this is what you think will happen not what you want to happen.

I start with the assumption the deal means we stay in the customs union for a minimum of 3 years.

My speculation:

1. Some cabinet ministers will resign.
2. DUP say they will vote against the deal.
3. Labour and other parties say they will vote against the deal.
4. PM is told if she doesn't withdraw the bill Tory rebels will force a leadership election. She does the maths and realises they have more than 40 votes (doesn't mean they will win but they can call a leadership vote) she decides to plough on.
5. She loses the EU deal vote in the commons and Corbyn calls for a vote of no confidence in the government. Tory rebels are told to vote for May or face losing a GE. Tory rebels agree to support the government's no confidence motion provided May steps down afterwards.
6. Tories just win no confidence vote and May announces her resignation. Britain is heading for a no deal Brexit with a new Tory leader.
7. The EU petrified that a staunch leaver will be the new leader offer concessions in the hope this will persuade the Tories to vote for a soft Brexit leader.
8. The whole saga continues ad nauseum.

A lot of speculation there and light on facts. Over to you.

Dead right.

It is important though for us to realise that brexit is a UK issue of zero interest to anybody else.

I have just had the fundamental realisation that brexit doesn't matter a toss to anyone outside the UK.

How I envy the rest of the world.

A lungful of brexit-free air, must be paradise......

Ireland trade and border. Plus whole EU to lose large percentage of funding. Likely to affect Euro and Pound badly.

You know you could move and breathe it permanently Steely.

You could join the joke ranks of that Holer who complained bitterly about Brexit and the right wing and then moved to Austria.

I must stay home, it is my duty to help the brexit resistance (Croydon branch).

At the rear of the 'cafe de la belle Margarite' knock twice and ask for Rene.......

As the EU is now in full control, why not move the government to Brussels as they are always there anyway.

Barnier could be our first French PM and he is already performing the role, just keep him away from the sandwiches he hates them.

Ah, but they're not - they pack up and move everything, lock, stock and bloody smoking barrel and all, every three months on a Brussels, Strasbourg, Luxembourg merry-go-round that serves no useful purpose other than to keep some people happy and swallow up yet more millions of euros to oil the wheels of the EU gravy trail.
