It's laughable isn't it.

And why doesn't the so called "right wing media" pick any of this up?

Because it isn't right wing.

Its owners are all establishment neo liberals.

I am finding it a challenge to envisage that Mrs May will get enough reassurances from the EU to convince 100+ Tory brexiteers to suddenly support the deal.

The likely outcome is that she will lose the vote in January, perhaps by a significant margin, as she would have done had it not be deferred and then there will be no further scope to extract more from the EU.This will be the time when her position might become untenable.

That said, the tectonic plates are moving fast,we are in uncertain times, unchartered territory so perhaps al possible scenarios should not be discounted.

I am looking forward to my meeting later with my Conservative brexiteer ERG supporting cronies !

We are in a mess.

Not just in terms of the deal or no deal issue but in the way that our elected leaders - I use the term loosely - are squabbling amongst themselves, playing party politics and acting in their own as opposed to the national interest.

May calls a vote then calls it off at the last minute. She must have known she would lose any vote days ago so why call the vote in the first place? Labour are no better. The just carp on about how bad the deal is but have no alternative.

In the meantime Brexit as an issue has so dominated we are not doing anything else. We are ignoring our crumbling nation.

A plague on both your houses I say!

The 'Meaningful vote' was not called just a few days ago.

It became apparent quite early that the vote would be lost by some margin but maybe the thinking was to have the vote and after a defeat the PM could go to the EU with firm evidence of the opposition to the deal and as such this was proof that she couldn't get it through Parliament.

As the days went on the scale of defeat became larger and larger with more and more Tory MPs totally opposed to it - I believe over 100 declared they would oppose it.It got to the stage whereby the vote would be defeated by 200+ votes which would be quite damaging, some might say catastrophic and I believe this was the driver for the deferment.

The 360 degrees of Brexit have believers in every quadrant, whatever the referendum result, however withdrawal was negotiated and whatever the associated legal framework looked like - most of the circle were going to be disappointed. Any Plan B or Plan C's will just have different segments being unhappy. There seems to be a view that at the 11th hour the EU will blink and cut some sweeteners, well maybe, but don't bank on it.

The EU have stated categorically that there will be NO re-negotiation but are talking in terms of further clarification, further interpretation and facilitation of UK ratification aprops the backstop.

Just been informed that the DUP have said that if there is no significant change to the Backstop and the deal is agreed in Parliament, they will terminate their 'Confidence and supply' arrangement with the Government .

Yeah, you can....unlike the government in China whose flag you chose nor the commission in the EU.
