Don't the MPs then need to vote on a NO DEAL exit; which will be defeated by an even larger margin.

No deal isn’t an option as such. It’s just the default position if a deal hasn’t been approved. There can’t be a vote on something which is a foregone conclusion unless there is (another) deal on the table. Which there isn’t. And there won’t be one.

The government’s only realistic options are to run with no deal, try to delay/postpone the leaving date or cancel it altogether - the latter two I think require an Act of Parliament and would be political suicide in any event.

May’s biggest error was ever thinking she could get a deal from the EUSSR that she could sell to Parliament and the electorate. It just wasn’t ever going to happen.

Don't....Corbyn wouldn't get a second term....But keep the gun, you might need it.

By Act of Parliament we are leaving the EU at the end of March. The question is on what terms?

If May cannot get a deal agreed I believe there is still some parliamentary housekeeping to be done even for a No Deal Brexit.

Those who want to remain or postpone leaving will need to pass an act of parliament in both houses before the end of March. This is still possible but problematic and not something I would want.

The only plus side of a Corbyn government would be to sober them up about the freedoms they enjoy and how quickly things can go south. If there is no civil unrest over Brexit then you can be sure Corbyn would usher that in.

The EU Withdrawal Act repeals the European Communities Act 1972 and can only be stopped by another Act of Parliament as you say.

No. It's already law. If we cannot agree a deal we leave without one.

Smart money on time extension. Beyond that???

I think what we can all agree on is that we have a government of simply mind-numbing, brain-buggering ineptitude and an ineffective Opposition that clearly does not know how to oppose.

If there were to be an election, I’d want all the useless f*ckwits to lose.

What authority would the government have after such a defeat.

Steeleye shocked....

How can you be a PM and call a vote when you are going to lose by 230 votes?

Like several previous occupants, entering into number 10 is a complete disconnect from society.

How much longer must we endure this utterly ghastly Tory government?

they wont win but will wipe out the tory majority, then could form a coalition with SNP cos no one else will get into bed with the Tories

There isn’t a Tory majority even now.

Coalition between Labour and the SNP won’t end well, trust me.

Does anyone think Article 50 will be extended? as can't see there being a deal before then.
