I am utterley disgusted with the decision by MP’s to remove the threat of a No Deal and with it our only bargaining chip, what a bunch of complete t***s! Surprise surprise the EU have said that they won’t change the withdrawal agreement and why should they??
This now portrays the unelected EU in all their glory..... a bunch of protectionists interested only in their 27 state club.
Parliament must live in cloud cuckoo land if they think they will get a deal that will satisfy anywhere near Brexit. A complete betrayal for the 17.5million. Never supported anarchy before but will now.
Of course then there is the question of the £39bn!!
Also Mrs May don’t whatever you do speak to Corbyn unless it’s to f**k off!

Maybe he done his research while moving his hedge funds over there? Telling us how great Brexit will be while re-positioning his money within the EU. Populism works, just tell the mob whatever they want to hear

why are people so bothered about the 39bn?

It's not as if we'll see a penny of that, you could argue they could reduce hospital waiting lists, hire more teachers, police or improve local services, but the Tories won't do that, everything will continue to be run down to a skeleton and say there's no magic money tree

It's an advisory vote so doesn't legally change anything one way or the other.

We leave at the end of March, that's the law. If there isn't an agreement, it'll be no deal, irrespective of yesterdays amendment. The only way to change that is through new legislation.

My further thoughts on last night is nothing has actually changed.

Parliament has shown there is no appetite for:
- Extending the Brexit deadline
- No Deal Brexit
- 2nd Referendum

Parliament would consider a deal with changes to the Irish back stop.

All of the above were advisory votes and do not bind the government. If Mrs May comes back with an improved offer Parliament could still reject it.

If the EU wont budge Parliament could still pass laws:
- Extend the deadline
We can still leave with no deal Parliament has to stop this with an act of Parliament.

Some Tory MPs who voted for the no deal motion did so because they didn't want to threaten the EU. If the EU reject Mrs May's proposal they may change their mind. Likewise other MPs may get cold feet and decide extending the deadline is the only option.

So once again everything to play for and the only thing that is clear is if Mrs May can get the concession on the back stop she has a good chance of getting it through Parliament.

Over to the EU.

Fear of being removed from the motherley teat of our EU overlords

Hmm, I do see your pointe. Many remainers (i.e. me) do see the possible benefit of going alone. But now? In a fractious world where the whole order is going to pot, is it really a good time to be leaving the safety of numbers and going it alone?

Truthfully, I hope I am wrong. I hope we enter a brave new world of open market, more choice at lower cost and the economy booms as the world rushes to invest in UK PLC rather than exploit our drastically weakened bargaining position.

That said, I have no idea what is going to happen; and you sure as hell don't know either. Neither do the politicians who have led the charge. To be doing what we are now doing in these uncertain times... let's just say there is a very thin line between bravely stepping into the unknown and reckless stupidity.

BTW, "motherly" "overlords"??? Are you gender confused or just not that that good at quoting the Daily Express?
