But you can't just make throwaway comments and ask people to answer it, and you can't demand people back up their arguments with facts and not do it yourself

There is a debate to be had here and as I don't know the science I have an open mind.

Apparently chlorine wash is used on fruit and vegetables and no one seems concerned about that.

Then look at the EU's reason for opposing chlorine washed chicken.

"The EU argues that chlorine washes could increase the risk of bacterial-based diseases such as salmonella on the grounds that dirty abattoirs with sloppy standards would rely on it as a decontaminant rather than making sure their basic hygiene protocols were up to scratch."

So the EU is not saying its bad but that it might lead to sloppy hygiene standards well isn't that an issue with regular safety inspections?

I think there is an element of protectionism from the EU but I also think that some practices of US farmers need to improve.

If its safe then as long as it is properly labelled let the consumer choose.

Why would anyone want to eat such unhealthy junk anyway, because they have no real choice?

Well that is changing fast.

Clean and safe food laboratory produced meat is on the way, can't come too soon IMHO.

You can always count on the EU looking after the people. They really should start being flexible! It's not about negotiation failing it's about thinking about the citzens first and foremost

Mind you this could be fake news

You want them to be flexible whilst threatening them with no deal?

This is why people wanting a no deal don't understand the implications and how it will negatively impinge on so many lives

Actually for Fox to actually get a trade deal done best to ask for a 10 year extension !!!!!!

Many, many people (who can afford any food they like) will eat cr@p. Junk food is not exclusively the domain of the poor.

How odd. We've had nothing but pontificating, hand-wringing and virtue signalling from the EU over "leaving EU citizens in limbo".

Now there is a chance to remove at least some more of that uncertainty, the EU says NON! And of course, you defend them.

Remind you of anything? Like this in November 2016, when the UK government wanted to do the exact same thing, and was similarly rebuffed?

[Link]

I bet you defended the intransigent EU to the hilt back then as well, didn't you? Did they fit blinkers on your Pussay?

I think we're very far apart in the debate

You feel the EU is our sworn enemy for whatever reason, i'm not sure why you get that idea (other than that stoked up by the media).

It's us that wants to leave, they are not forcing us so I hardly see how they should bend over backwards, we have to compromise the most

He said "probably the influx have zero skills"
I said:

Please explain. Some of the non-EU arrivals will be family members of EU nationals. Others will have arrived under the Tier 2or 5 employment legislation. From these examples, the only arrivals who do not have to have secured employment are the family members of EU nationals.

Where is my throw away comment? I think I quoted facts he didn't/hasn't
