In what way is that made up? It's a statement of reality that I'm happy for you to show me is incorrect.

‘Of those that push for a second vote.....I imagine few if any of them argued that it was democratic to hold the original referendum’

As you well know, it’s impossible to show that to be incorrect, just as it’s impossible for you to show it to be correct.

Your use of the word imagine suggests you know it to be made up.

Well, it is actually possible to prove my position.

Their was a public body of people who were pro EU and were calling for an EU referendum and they were the LibDems. The reason you say it's impossible to prove me wrong is because there wasn't anybody else...which is what I said.

Then when Cameron actually announced the referendum the LibDems magically no longer supported that position.....which keys into the hypocrisy and lies of these people.

Because, like many of their policies they only held it because they could face two ways while thinking it would never become a reality.

The existence of one body who acted as you described, does not prove the statement that there was few, if any, who did the opposite, to be true.

So no, it’s not possible to prove.

Well it kind of does.....one body existing is a minority and hence the word 'few' seems perfectly adequate as a description.

I am afraid they do Stirling. As you know, the young tend to be quite holier than thou. They feel deeply let down

Tux is also right, this generation will never forgive the over 65 generation for many things. Their view is that their future was stolen by those who decided to feather their nests at the expense of future generations. DB pensions, control over housing and ridiculous levels of debt being the clearest examples. It seems we are all stuck with being poorer than previous generations and that will get worse as a result of Brexit. Still, maybe it will get better in 20 years' time eh! Meanwhile lets all watch the oldies going on their world cruises.

My god man. Every generation blames the one before.

Even Mike and the Mechanics knew that.

You mean this economy.....you know the one doing better than any other EU economy.

Well, if we ignore for a minute:

Luxembourg
Ireland
Netherlands
Sweden
Germany
Denmark
Austria
Belgium
Finland

But then, THEN we are top of the pile

Tiny economies from small countries don't really scale.

Where do you get these stats because from what I've seen only Spain and the Netherlands from the EU have a higher growth than the UK in the G20 at the moment......and Spain's economy is recovering with a lot of fiscal help.

Ah, this is GDP per capita. I took your post to mean the current state of the economies, rather than growth

As for the point about generations Oh please....like this lot are somehow are going to be more ethical than the last lot. The young always talk nonsense. When in reality when they start working and paying tax they will do as much as they can to feather their own nests and than use BS to justify it to themselves and others......just like their parents did.....and the ones before them.

No, not only mine as I made perfectly clear.

I find the constant refrain on the HOL that the young are stupid, untrustworthy and need to be told what to do more than a little laughable.

Hmm, your future? How much did you pay for your education? How much did your house cost? Did you get MIRAS? Have you had access to DB pensions?

In reality you may be young enough where you weren't a beneficiary. It is unusual for the young to despise the generation two generations before them - normally it is their parental generation.

Growth is misleading but how do you truly measure an economy.

Debt to growth ratio I find alarming, and ours is 86%, others are also s***e.

Is it all just a pile of debt?

Most politicians or certainly very few of them have had a proper job & yet have the temerity to lecture us.It's why they are politicians.

Of course they are professionals! They are paid by us to represent us and take decisions on our behalf. You can question their competence but not their status. In fact many have legal training and all have access to legal and expert advice and the time to study things. Just as you don't ask a carpenter to do brain surgery you shouldn't ask the people to take complicated decisions like Brexit, when too many of the people are either misinformed, prejudiced or emotional to take cool rational decisions on such important matters. We elect representatives to do the research and the thinking and not Mr Murdoch, Mr Putin, Mr Farage, Mr Banks or the sides of buses.
