Vote by MPs on a second referendum beaten by 295 votes to 268. That's 52% v 48% you f***ing beauty!

That won’t be the end of that story. They only have to turn 28 politicians.

Only indicative votes so doesn’t mean a whole lot either way.

If and when May’s deal is truly consigned to the scrap heap, the remaining options will be somewhat limited, and at least 28 will flip to one of the only viable ways forward.

No deal won’t be allowed by parliament. We all know it now.

There is more chance of Sorloth winning the golden boot at the next World Cup.

No parliament on earth would sanction no deal.

Not really. They didn’t come up with all of it. They wanted a deal that wasn’t a result of May going to Brussels, sitting mute in negotiations, saying ‘okay then’ and then bringing back her pathetic results.

In a nutshell they've taken nearly 3 years to realise they are not going to get a good deal from the EU. Something that was clear and logical from the outset

Parliament is useless then. They don't want May deal, they don't want no deal, so they have the opportunity to come up with an alternative yet say no to all the other suggestions, suggestions that THEY came up with

Total farce

Totally agree!

For once I agree with you Pussay.

And to top it all off Bercow is trying to block a vote on Mrs May's deal for a third time. Even Labour MPs are now saying this is too much. If they are going to hold repeat votes on Monday he should allow her one last try if she thinks she has the numbers.

He is now being an idiot. The other day he allowed Parliament to seize control of the agenda citing precedent and yet he recently made decisions where he exceeded his authority and claimed that precedent wasn't that important.

This is a right horlicks and I cannot think of one politician Remainer or Leaver Labour or Tory who has come out of this with any credit.

I am starting to think we should now have a general election as long as the Tory party ditch the Remain rebels who went against their own manifesto. Let them join the TIGS and the Tories put up Brexit candidates against them. As for Labour they need to decide which side they are on. I would actually prefer it if Labour came out pro EU then the electorate would have a straight choice Tory Brexit or Labour Remain.

I am sick of MPS who signed up for their party manifesto to get elected and are now betraying their voters either you support the party line or you leave.

The word 'loser' carries a connotation that is nowhere near accurate for this case. Yes, 'Remain' lost. That doesn't mean everyone that voted 'Remain' is a loser in the way Americans use the word, and which is implied in Willo's post.

But it is alright for remainers on here to continually insult the intelligence of those that voted to leave is it? Some of those should grow up

Democracy effectively died in the UK today.

On June 23rd we voted to leave the EU.

We were scheduled to be leaving on Friday at 11.00pm. It was enshrined in law.

Our traitorous MP's, with some notable exceptions, voted to bin that.

Delay IS betray. Make no bones about that.
Mays deal is betrayal.

No Deal is the only outcome that respects the vote on June 23rd 2016.

Absolutely correct. Anything other than "No deal" is remain by another name.

Any MP who voted to remove no deal as an option is either thick or a deliberate enemy of democracy.

Imagine thinking that removing your ultimate negotiating tool was a good idea?

The irony of the numbers gave a little light relief in these time of national humiliation and death of democracy.
