Where should we turn for our news source other than the official obvious broadcasters? I would eliminate the daily mail from your list though

Are you blind?

Actually READ my post. I clearly say I don't have my own data and hadn't looked into the reported figures.

Sachs are fiercely remain so it's not an illogical position to take their figures with a pinch of salt.

I don't know why I'm getting into this with someone who has no idea what major world event was going on in 1943 anyway, clearly something is lacking up top.

You see old Genghis is a minority and while he liked a good burning down of a village or two and wasn't adverse to the occasional mass raping that non European status is a powerful caveat.....Despite many saying he was responsible for the murder of tens of millions....some say 10 percent of the world's population at the time.

Still....he had a far less silly moustache.

As a member of the Labour Party, may I say what a fine leader of the Tories Mr Rees-Mogg would be. It will suit us down to the ground. The only Tory leader I would be worried about is Ms Rudd. As a precaution I have put a bet on her becoming the next Tory leader on the basis that the winnings will deaden the pain a bit.

Orders of magnitude better than the ridiculous non Tory figure we have currently. Tory party conferences have been devoid of any social conservatism due to her purely neo liberal view of the right.

That said, surely the idea of meritocracy is that the best minds, willing to enter politics, reach the highest levels within it.

There are a frightening number of dullards in high positions of office in this country.

Very true, Maine is ultra white, but on the Maine coast where my house is there is a liberal outlook.

Interior Maine is Trump country.

However I spent over 10 years living in New York City, and have lived in Atlanta and other places which are highly multicultural in the US.

You mean people who vote for their own interests.

Obviously, you think we should all be voting for somebody else's.

Maybe I will turn over a new leaf and have one day a year where I sit down and really worry about the plight of Mexicans.

You are an intolerant little man though arent you.

Dont like gays, dont like foreigners, and RH on the top of your hit list.

Next to you Idi Amin was fairly tolerant.

Firstly, Where does it say I don't like gays?
Secondly, I was born in RSA so hating foreigners doesn't really fit.
RH I'll let slide...

For public record Tom, you got me carded for a lot less than this.

I can't stand Rudd, but I did appreciate the joke.

A Goldman Sachs study?

The 11th President of the European Commission was José Manuel Barroso.

He is currently the non-executive chairman at Goldman Sachs International.

You talk about bias? Are actually that short-sighted?

'Jose Manuel Barroso, a non-executive chairman of Goldman Sachs, has been criticized for allegedly trying to lobby members of the European Commission ' [Link]

Cony capitalism is one of the reasons why we voted to leave the EU. You are a socialist yet are a complete hypocrite by being on the side of the large banks. At least Dennis Skinner has principles.

It is one's own comments, that necessitate yellow cards. Ergo you got yourself carded I think.

You're lucky you can sit down Hrolf......after that plate of admittedly delicious Mexican food I had last week I couldn't sit down for a couple of days.

They must have the worst sewage system in the world. I can imagine that no amount of money would be sufficient compensation for working in the Mexican sewage industry.

At least as an individual member you don't have to make any meaningful contribution to decision making. The Unions and people like Momentum get to make all the decisions for you. All you have to do is choose the right champagne. Less headaches that way.
