Well obviously, its supporting local produce and ensuring a sustainable farming industry, unless you're in the camp of flooding the UK with cheap low quality produce and running our own industries into the ground? Taking back control equals passing more our wealth out of the country?

Never ceases to amaze me the raft of negative things leavers knowingly voted for with no positive balancer

You mean like Prince Charles’ farm produce?

I doubt many would prefer to carry on under CAP, even tough it's been revised over the years, the subsidy system is deeply flawed and I'm not surprised farmers voted leave.

Farmers voted to not have subsidies?

What do they get in return for the subsidies they give up?

I'm not saying that, I just dislike lazy retorts and throw away remarks to discredit a good debate where one has presented a credible article to support their argument

Just accept its a goal for our side and try and find an equaliser

You should be a politician..(or change your moniker to either 'Teflon' or 'Diverter') as you rarely answer direct questions that highlight you're as bad as those you try and dig out regarding baseless assumptions.

The current system is acreage based, so not eco friendly at all.

Why would a business want less income?

Yes

I need to understand how farmers are better off without subsidies

80% of subsidies are paid to 20% of farmers. Small farms don’t receive much whereas the Queen receives around €500,000.

The CAP system pays out on acreage, including land not being farmed, so cut down a hedgerow and get more subsidy. Replaced by direct payments based on environmental standards.

...and you don't even have to live in the country where the subsidised land is - just own some land there.

So farmers are financially better off not having them?
