Exactly I am not arguing for machines replacing people just pointing out it will happen in those business's driven by low cost. If you want the human touch I expect that eventually they will charge you for that.

In McDonalds Lewisham you pretty much have to order your burger via a touch screen. Weatherspoons are trialling a self service beer dispenser etc.

A sophisticated self service coffee machine that can deliver your personalised choice should not be too far away.

And then what do you do with all the low skilled people?

In terms of foreigners you don't easily let low skill into your country because you are creating huge problems down the line once AI automation takes these jobs and even many skilled ones......So essentially we are long since fecked.

Japan avoided this problem by only allowing 'guest workers' on time limits and over stay foreigners can't hide very well in Japan because the neo liberals and corporates hadn't already filled Japan with foreigners to hide amongst.

But of course.....look at the people who run this country....The decisions are all short term and expedient in nature.

Vending machines will be a UK phenomenon in the post brexit utopia. Perhaps I should add it to the list?

May sacks Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson for the Huawei leak.

Operating in the national interest gets you the sack in this country.

He is strenuously denying it?

Nobody can leak from the National Security Council it is officially secret, obviously security is compromised by any disclosures.

Still he denies this, will we be able to find out the truth?

Mmmm....I don't know if he denies it.....but I suppose there is the criminality aspect of not wanting to go to jail.

On reflection I think perhaps you are right about 'not leaking' while you are actually a part of the NSC.

He should have resigned and then leaked.......When the government are operating in what you regard as against the national interest.....you shouldn't be a party to that.

Mind you, resigning and then the leak happening makes it pretty obvious.

So if we stay in the EU we won't see job losses through automation? You cannot halt progress you can only shape it.
