Last time I checked the referendum result hadn't been followed through at all

It has, and is continuing to be, but by Parliament. It's just not being done in a way that you like.

If referendums had any legal status in the UK then you would have every right to complain. They don't.

The issue is not the referendum. It's the commitments made to respect it given by the parties. Commitments which can and must be withdrawn if circumstances demand that they should be.

You must be easily pleased! I think we need to concentrate on much more serious issues than the sideshows.

Which means absolute nothing to anyone except those who are hardline Leavers. The most it can ever be is an embarrassment and a distraction. Only UK GEs really mean anything. And I include referendums in that analysis.

Change no, but as a demonstration of the depth of feeling on that side of the argument it meant a great deal more than the pointless upcoming EU elections, which are a waste of time and money. Unless of course we stay in! Are you now in favour of that?

You think a march and a petition means more than a referendum and the upcoming objection vote to the EU coming up. Hilarious.

Thanks too. You just demonstrated my point that so many Brexiteers don't understand how British democracy actually works. It's not done via referendums. Or indeed "People's votes". Which are the same thing.

It's done in Parliament.

After it was promised by parliament, before the referendum, that the vote would count. The whole country understood that, probably including you, yet you say this every single day.

You must feel so 'betrayed'.

Still, another meaningless vote for you coming up.

Both mean very little in the overall scheme but a pointless election that no-body at all wants and will be only used by those seeking to make a statement is particularly stupid.

At least the march and the petition was directed at our Parliament where the decisions will be made and not at an institution that the primary activists are seeking to withdraw from. Now that's what is hilarious.

I think that you misunderstand the idea of voting for the Brexit Party in the forthcoming EU elections as many people will be voting for them to make a statement to our own Government that we need to get out of the EU and if that means a no deal Brexit then so be it

Sure. Parliament promised to respect the vote.

What Parliament promised, Parliament can amend, or even withdraw if, in their judgement it is our best interests to do so. That is still respecting the vote!

That's the way our democracy works. If you don't like it then vote in a Parliament to make the results of referendums binding. Good luck with that.

Of course I understand that, but it is little more than a straw poll of activists and the disaffected.

There will doubtless be lots of huffing and puffing but it won't change anything.

Only a GE to choose who represents us really matters.

Great another Rees Mogg

I wonder if she's got fingers in other pies that benefits from brexit uncertainty as well?

I think everyone is misunderstood.

There's nothing on their website that explains what they will do once elected and when ask supporters on here they are equally clueless. They just want brexit, what happens after that ? Who cares....

If we manage to achieve a decent Brexit then the Brexit Party will have fulfilled it's purpose and will probably disband.

As a matter of interest to those that don't know the Brexit Party's biggest donor is our very own Jeremy Hosking
