British Steel collapsing, in part thanks to Brexit uncertainty. Its not solely down to Brexit, but it is a large factor. Business Secretary Greg Clark said the government had shown its "willingness to act", having provided the British Steel with a £120m bridging loan in April to meet EU emission rules and avoid a steep fine.

Who will go to Scunny and expound the virtues of Brexit to someone about to lose their job, in part because of Brexit? Does anyone have the balls to do that? Latest poll: People of the country now want to remain in the EU. You should fear a second vote because the tide has turned on Brexit and the majority of people dont want it anymore. However some Remainers are now arguing that if the Brexit party wins tomorrow it is meaningless. Shouldn't they be arguing that the European parliament and it's MEPs are incredibly important? Time for a lie down. It is meaningless in the context of making any kind of contribution towards resolving the current Brexit mess as it has no bearing whatsoever on domestic politics. If some kind of Brexit is eventually agreed then it will also be meaningless in EU terms because those whom we send there tomorrow will have to resign their seats. It is a pointless waste of time and money and I have heard several people saying they will spoil their votes to emphasise that is how they feel.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
