Also - related to other posts - can we get this factually correct. BJ is not advocating we leave the EU without a deal. He is saying that we need to keep it on the table to give ourselves the best platform to negotiate from. The Labour party have continuously shown they are politically naive and dont seem to grasp this.

The naivety is all with those who believe that playing bluff with our future is a credible, let alone responsible, way for a government to behave.

This isn't poker when you are risking your own money. You are risking our children's future.

If you seriously think those who oppose this strategy, including Corbyn, don't understand it then you are really naive. Of course they do, but they can see just how foolish it is.

It might look like a good tactic to the loud mouth down the pub but it really isn't because it can so easily go completely wrong. You just don't take that kind of risk in the hope it will put on enough pressure to get what you want. The EU will not blink in those circumstances because they have far too much to lose by doing so. They would swallow hard and accept the pain of a no deal.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Twaddle.

A second referendum is invalid.

Do you seriously think that those idiot Remainers would accept a second leave win any more than the first anyway?

Are there really people that genuinely can't see that Remainers are determined to block Brexit under any circumstances?

All the political posturing is just misdirection.

Ah the gentle subtly nuanced frothing rant we've come to expect from you Hrolf. Every word rubbish obviously but fun to read

I don't see anything he said that was inaccurate myself.

What point was rubbish?

I say this hand on heart that it’s a shame there has been no control of immigration from the EU or any member states when all EU migrants I’ve met have been good to meet.

But that isn’t the full story.

Yeah kind of Ironic that the EU believe that all fish caught in British waters belong to the EU, but anyone caught floundering in a rubber dinghy is the UKs problem. We should be shipping them straight back & dumping them onto French & Belgian beaches.

A group of Eastern European countries agreed today that amongst others, Albania should be allowed join the EU. A third of the country has already left illegally since the end of the cold war.

I think you are caught up in the hysteria.
No deal is deliberately provocative language. It would be leaving on WTO terms as an absolute worst case.

An EU nation can still veto an extension, if for example, they dont want our MEPs taking their seats.

The EU also dont want to put their citizens at risk or explain why they are taking a course that's damaging for it's own fragile economies simply to save face. That will not go down well with the electorate.

What will happen in my view, is that we'll get very close to leaving on WTO terms, then strike a deal where both parties agree to keep the status quo for now, in line with the repeal act, then slowly diverge over time.

I don’t recall

Albania has a relatively high life expectancy and level of education, with most Albanians being polyglot.

It has low levels of violent crime and of corruption.

Agreed, but MPs need to let that course of action happen rather than messing about with their own agendas.

Maybe that is because they export all their criminals.

We had three helping themselves to stuff in people's gardens around where I live last week.
