Try digesting and not suggesting for once.

When what is offered has about as much substance as a stick of celery it really doesn't take long to digest it does it?

I can't see Johnson being defeated here but it is unjust.

They are judging by the law, all written down, not our bonkers unwritten constitution.

It seems that 'what did we do last time' seems to be the constitution, but who knows.

Presumably a PM can just suspend a parliament whenever he feels like it.

Imagine how much all this circus is costing, no such justice would be available to you or I, you have to be stinking rich like the government with taxpayer funding, or Soros.

Funny how John Major is playing a large part in this case. The same John Major that suspended Parliament in 1997, for a longer period (allegedly to avoid a scandal involving Tory MPs and bribes). If this is not blatant hypocrisy I do not know what is, although I am sure some on here will lecture me otherwise

That Soros sold the £ down the river and made a fortune is a matter of record.

That he is funding this case, or doing any of the other things he is accused of, isn't. It's just a conspiracy theory.

I don't defend the first but unless and until the second is proven, which from everything I have seen is extremely unlikely, I don't condemn the second.

Whatever you think of the way he made his money it seems to me that the motivation of George Soros to protect and nurture our democracies and protect them from populist insurgencies is entirely to his credit.

I don't suppose you can provide any links could you please?

Why would he be bothered?

If all he was interested in was money surely he would just enjoy it.

From all he has said and done, especially in his native Hungary, he seems motivated by a genuine desire to help people.

If you think democracy has "robbed" us I suggest you go and live somewhere where they don't have one. I suspect you would quickly change your mind.

As I said that was from one of the foundations he has funded which act independently. It was also not to fund this action, but to help the "Best for Britain" campaign group. Mrs Miller was one of it's founder members but left in 2017 feeling it was becoming more anti-Tory than anti-Brexit.

So I believe you are wrong.

Not that anyone who is a cynic about the BBC will take it seriously of course.

How would his policy of open borders achieve that precisely?

Really?

You don't think it is just true?

It is very rare for anyone here to ever pause for a moment and say that anything I have said has made them reconsider their position. All that ever comes back are entrenched positions defended with self righteous indignation.

It's not that I don't understand the arguments being put. They have been thrust down my throat so often I have had much more than my fill of them.

It's simply that I believe them to be fundamentally flawed because they are almost all based upon a misunderstanding of how our democratic system actually works.

I am far from alone in what I believe to be true. Many, indeed most at the moment, MPs agree with me as do a large number of our fellow citizens.

The difference is that this forum, for some weird reason, has a much higher number from the group I believe to be wrong in it's membership.

Why would be a very interesting thing to find out. It just isn't normal. Is it the way it was originally set up that attracted such people? Is it that football supporters who use forums tend to come from that section of society? I really don't know.

Finding right leaning or left leaning forums on the internet isn't difficult and in them you would expect to encounter biased opinions. But why here? This ought to be more balanced. It isn't just slightly to the right of centre, it's way to the right. Why?
