They really, really aren’t.

With respect, considering the past noises you have made over censorship on this site, what you think on this particular issue carries little impact.

Then Parliament should step up and take full responsibility. It has the right to ignore the result of June 23rd. That damages its credibility with absolute justification for our anger at it but at least it is taking the blame.

But to then go back to us with another referendum makes no sense what so ever. Because if it refuses to implement the first, why on earth would a second one have the slightest shred of credibility? In fact, there should be no more referendums full stop.

However there is the option of a GE. Let the partys declare their positions (and both Labour and the Lib-Dems have dramatically changed their stances) and put themselves to the scrutiny of the electorate in a manner that is binding in terms how the HoC is made up.

I genuinely struggle to understand why anybody would object to that in these circumstances.

We had a referendum on our future in the EU. Parliament has refused to implement it and parties representing a huge part of its members have changed their stance. Defend that at the ballot box. Let us see Parliamentary democracy in action. Let it regain some credibility. Surely that is the most positive option available.

Bit late coming back but I disagree your point on the referendum. The 2016 vote was flawed as it did not say HOW to leave. Hard Brexit leaves no doubt. You just allow effluxion of the time extension. Remain you do nothing. A "deal" is the killer of resolution even if a good one (whatever that is?) may well be the best thing for this country.

Having worked in institutions I know how it works. People stay within professions with similar like minded people...To stay long enough and promote high enough it mostly becomes self selecting as in the same people promote similar to them.

Not all but elites are more often than not silver spooned neo liberals who came from the same type of background, went to the same types of schools and whose lifestyle has meant they have lost touch with their history and heritage.

It was 11-0 and I would wager that they all voted remain.....As most elites did.

Drifting into conspiracy nut stuff there Stirling.

Listening to them trying to censor Johnson, playing the Jo Cox card, playing the victim - sensitive to any criticism calling them out.....Yet they are free with the abuse aimed at him.

Yes, all MPs are now that much in danger.....it isn't nice but that's how polarised this issue has become.

Those who put themselves in that firing line have chosen to willingly....that's on both the leave and remain side.

You can't go over the top and expect the opposition not to fire....the modern left are all about censorship and control of language.

The exact opposite of the left I grew up with.

Yes I was uncomfortable with this attack and to it being headline news. However in following this tactic of peoples hero v establishment he takes one hell of a risk. Some nutter with a gun will justify his act by quoting him. Fatal body blow for Brexit I suspect.

There's inclusivity and there's exposing a challenged person to ridicule.

Makes a change from the usual blue rinses or frothing elderly gammons who the telly usually stick a mike under as the voices of Brexit.

That was him. Labour MP for "leave" voting Huddersfield.

At 79 years old he should be more careful that he doesn't bring on a stroke or heart attack

To be fair it was in response to Geoffrey Cox's ridiculously emotive and over the top statement to the house.

No, I mean exactly what I wrote. The HoC consists of more than just the government and opposition at present. This is now a minority government and extraordinary times. Nothing is normal so nothing is being done as it is "supposed" to be done.

I've agreed that the positions and hence language is highly polarised......that's what happens when people won't compromise.

We had three votes on a deal that no one really wanted which Johnson and co voted for on the last vote but instead the opposition decided to play 'win or bust'.

Let's not forget that there are no doubt remainer nutters out there as well. Johnson and co have been called all types of insult.....'dictator', 'Trump'...we have had the nonsense that he's pulled a 'coup'.

So with the language I'm wholly opposed to any restrictions on what is said in the chamber. It is a matter for that house to regulate. My opinions is I'd rather pull the cameras than restrict language.
