Here we go again zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Once again you 'stalk' me for relaying important information to others. Information that MAY BLOODY WELL HELP THEM understand what is really going on in the financial world. The world that continually robs them! I try to help people. You're just an unhelpful prick.
LOLE Button well and truly pressed. Cut the condescending Samaritan narrative. You do realise people other than you know a bit about what is going on in the world? I’m also helping people understand that just listening to one side of the story all the time actually is unhelpful. Especially when some of that help is complete garbage dressed up as qualified opinion. Would I trust someone who professed to be a financial advisor because their main source of knowledge was google? No. I’d report them. Stalking is not possible on a public forum. Replying to drivel is. The world will always rob you. It really doesn’t matter what system is in place. It’s human nature. Plenty of my posts have been completely useless, I’m sure some would say all. Same goes for everyone on this forum. The difference is I know when I’m being unhelpful. Insults and lack of credible counter argument are always a red flag.

They came about thanks to careful, measured progress, and member states pursuing clear goals, one step after another." France's Macron pushes for 'true European army' [Link] "We must have a Europe that can defend itself on its own without relying only on the United States." But I guess this is just "propaganda" from the EU and they don't really mean it. Edited by Penge Eagle (05 Oct 2019 9.21pm) Just because individual politicians express aspirations caused by uncertainties over the USA's continuing commitment to NATO and the very real concerns over Russian intentions doesn't mean anything at all other than the need for greater co-operation has been identified. You need to look beyond the headlines and at the actual facts. No EU country is is favour of giving up sovereign control of it's armed forces. No country could be forced by the EU to do so as every one has it's own veto. So it might well develop into an effective Defence Union but there is no chance of it ever growing into a EU army at any time in the foreseeable future. This isn't propaganda from the EU! It is though propaganda from the ultra Brexiteers who were behind the leave campaign. Are those who believe these claims morons? You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Edited by Penge Eagle (05 Oct 2019 9.21pm) If you read back, myself and Stirling covered this debate in a pretty amicable manner. All the facts are there. I never said people who disagree are morons. I said most people are morons. I’m not taking sides here. Morons exist everywhere. Leavers, remainers, whatever. No clique is immune. Also if you read my post I never said having an opinion about the long term aim being an EU Army was an issue, and undoubtably there are some comments that have been made that clearly are in support of it or a similar construct. But they are few and far between, in no way an immediate consensus and there are no structures in place that exist to facilitate such a thing in the near to medium term. To repeat one of the facts from my earlier exchange - under current terms we have a veto regarding anything to do with our military involvement, institutions or otherwise, contrary to many people’s propaganda led understanding of the Lisbon treaty. The counter argument here was the belief that at some stage that veto would be relinquished if we were to remain as a full member of the EU. That’s when it becomes subjective - I could never see that happening. Too much of a political hot potato.

Stick to Thomas Cook. Nice to see you’ve mellowed. To be fair, on TC you’re right. It was more like 12 month old news. Possibly older than that as the package holiday industry has been dying in a slow death for years. And it certainly didn’t have anything to with Brexit. I just couldn’t be bothered to start a thread on it. Now that was useless.
