It can certainly get uncomfortable. Not so much with sitting on a fence producing pain in the backside as we don't. We occupy the high ground in the middle where there are plenty of others lending support but in both ears from the noisy neighbours down below.

Whether you believe something is far to the left, or far to the right, always depends on where you are politically yourself.

Go onto a Corbynista site and the Blair supporters are right wing Tories pretending to be Labour. The current Tories are little less than Nazis and Farage should be locked away in a psychiatric hospital.

If you don't believe the current Tories are right wing then it is likely that you are even further to the right than they are.

It is my belief that only those in the centre, like myself, can view both left and right with dispassionate objectivity.

With dispassionate objectivity, may I ask who or what calibrated you? How do you know you are in the centre?
That is only your personal opinion.

As usual, you are claiming to view things in a light that the rest of us are unable to see.

Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see

Political vacuums currently exist worldwide. We're far from alone.
The globalist agenda, which includes your beloved EU, has done nothing for the average person other than increase their current debt burden and reduce their future prosperity.

People are fed up of being robbed by their 'representatives' and who in their right mind can blame them?

I would be interested to know who you think these "globalists" are and how they determine an agenda?

From my perspective we are simply living in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world which creates it's own agenda. Trying to resist it is as ultimately pointless as Canute's apocryphal effort with the tide or the Luddites destroying machines. In a changed world we need to adjust and find new ways. Change needs to be embraced and exploited, not sulked over. Some are obviously doing that just as entrepreneurs in a free economy have always done. Making sure change is managed to ensure the vulnerable don't suffer until they adjust is a political necessity but it is also somewhat socialistic in outlook.

Our representatives aren't "robbing" us at all but if you think they are then do your democratic duty and change them. That's what has, to a degree, already happened. Now let us see how people react to this new batch. I think that very soon they might want the old lot back again.

No-one "calibrated" me. I do though get plenty of support for my ideas in places which also believe in the EU and take a generally similar line. You will have to take my word for that though!

If you detest the hard right and the hard left in equal measure it is, I think, a fair deduction to believe you are in the centre. The centre itself is a broad church, as politics in the UK always used to be.

I don't think your light needs to be particularly bright to be able to see this.

Light not so bright.
What does that mean then.

You've answered your first sentence.
Sadly, regardless of how many essays you post, you'll never see it.

Once again, sadly you'll never see it.

Good article from the Mail about why the EU should give us a good deal.

[Link]

Whether they have the foresight to do so remains to be seen.

"Good article" and "the Mail" are oxymorons.

I asked for YOUR description, not mine. Do you mean you agree with me?

Once again, sadly you'll never see it.

You are right, but only because there is nothing to see.

As the apolitical have no interest in politics I doubt they can have any kind of understanding.

I have no interest in American football so don't have any understanding of the rules.

Well if you can put your prejudices to one side the author was giving examples of where our country has been generous when we didn't need to be and that it paid off for both parties in the long run.

The EU does not have to give us a great deal but if they accept the reality both sides will benefit from it in the long run.
