They are not irrelevant at all.

The facts were not known in June 2016.

Now they are.

There is nothing wrong with giving people their say on what is actually going to happen.

But that is your campaign in a nutshell. And it’s ugly. You literally have to rely the notion that Brexit vote was all reckless and misinformed. The reality is, there are honourable and completely plausible cases for Brexit whether you voted for it or you didn’t. And you are literally seeking to reject every single person who voted on that basis.

There were idiots on BOTH sides. There were liars on BOTH sides. Nick Clegg stood on national TV and emphatically said that an EU army was a fantasy made up by Leavers to strengthen a case for brexit. Politicians lie, alert NASA.

A people’s vote is essentially patting 17.4 million voters on the head and saying “aww poppet, you voted the wrong way, but don’t worry we’re here to come and fix it for you”. Simply on the basis that you didn’t like the way it went.

But you needn't take my word for it. Try asking a Hungarian. There must be a few in Wisbech.

There's certainly one in Newcastle Upon Tyne as last I heard my ex wife was shagging him

This is a huge fuss over nothing, a referendum can be called at any time for any reason.

Some places have referendum mania, and the whole purpose seems to be to nullify the previous one six weeks ago! They are a curse.

Provided all leavers are placed under house arrest on the day of the vote it should go very well !

Seriously I think remain by 65% now.

Remain offers termination of brexit and a huge let-off for a nation apparently contemplating suicide.

Very well summarised.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Of course it is not.

The 17 millions merely have to vote again.

What is the difficulty.

They will lose by a big margin IMO.

That is the real reason you are ducking it.

Sorry, Stirling this is utter nonsense.

There was a strong left wing case for Brexit. For every Nigel Farage & Boris, there was a Dennis Skinner & Tony Benn. (Who were leavers long before Boris was).

The biggest advocates for the EU are New Labour & centrists. By a country mile too. Look at the figures campaigning for a so called people’s vote.

I’m a lefty and a Labour voter. But politicians such as Chuka Umunna & Tony Blair are some of the most despicable in existence. Dance on the platform of people’s misery, but seek to protect the status-quo that caused it as if their life depends on it.

Brexit, on the most part is an anti-establishment vote. That establishment, 9x out of 10 is occupied by the centre.

The Blair and Cameron/May governments are/were never "centrists" but globalists that were really about propping up big business (their mates). There has been no genuine centrist representation in this county since I can remember (for want of a phrase "classical liberal". All we have had is the masses ignored and patronized because there has been no 3rd party up to the job and the vast majority of people in this country will never "lurch to the right" like many other countries have in Europe. People did vote for Brexit for reasons other than a protest though. The political ideology within the EU and some of the people now involved are now scary and probably make any cost of leaving worth paying.

I wouldn't disagree with your post. I was kind of replying to Steely's kind of far left.

I'm well aware of the old left's distrust of the corporate and centralized power hungry EU.

Isn't that what remain believed would be the result first time round???

I voted Leave, and I'd vote Leave again - what makes you so confident that many have changed their minds?

After the seventies we didn't get get a vote on the political union in Europe for forty years.

Leavers were asking for one since the nineties.....Now it's your time.

You have zero right to better treatment than the frankly awful treatment given to those who called for a vote.

But as I think we are better people.....I'd agree to a second vote in ten to fifteen years.

Brexit has to have a chance.

I'd also add that the leave campaign broke electoral law plus there is the arron Banks investigation where leave campaign funds came from Russian sources

Politicians fibs are one thing, breaking the law is quite another

Look at the 'deal' and explain how it in any way relates to June 2016.

But more importantly for leavers, the UK is not leaving but becoming a rule-taker with no voice.

We are not actually leaving, just becoming slaves.
