How would that work?

My mother lives in a house in a leafy suburb which is probably worth £800,000 so she would be your target.

My mother is 91, lives on a pension and bought the house for £8,500 forty plus years ago

Indeed...a lot of policies sound good in principle but need a lot lot more though in order to actually work. Oh and there's already a levy on Buy To Lets...3%

Not gonna get political about, but I'd renationalise transport and utilities, increase minimum wages, a massive house building program, increase taxes on people with bigger houses and own more than 1 property, levy on buy to let mortgages, make sure corporations pay right amount of tax and bring legislation for heavy fines for companies that breach that, a tax on goods and services not based in UK and tax relief for small businesses

and you would get the money for all this from where, Diane Abbotts money tree?? The nationalised railways were perfect werent they? Taxed more cos you have abig house that you worked hard to buy? Are you Jeremy Corbyn?

I bet the journey by train from your house to London is nightmare.

Wisbech doesn't have a train station.

We just stick tie six eastern Europeans together on either side, get them to grab onto a big wheel and just shout 'giddy up'.

This "Pinkie" is feeling rather perky !

Mrs May has said "There is no deal that comes without a backstop, and without a backstop there is no deal".

I don't support the proposed deal and 7 out of 10 Conservative members are of this opinion.

Edited by Willo (06 Dec 2018 1.10pm)

I thought it was the UK and EU negotiators who designed the backstop as the only workable solution to the NI/Eire border issue - so again in your view can we have a workable Brexit without a backstop?

Stop please.

The simplest reasoning seems beyond some people.

You think we have avoided WW3 because everybody became nice?

War is now done by proxy. That allows the 'industrial military complex' to stay in business.

This whole Brexit business is highly complicated with various options and scenarios and currently a fast moving picture.I suspect the general public are now tired hearing about it !

The 'Backstop' is a complicated issue in that we would be leaving one treaty on 29 March 2019 where we would have more control of our affairs but entering into another treaty with the Backstop where we would be relinquishing some of our control.

What is a major issue is the fact that as things stand, should we get into the Backstop we could not leave unilaterally so in theory we could be tied into it inperpituity.Us hard-right Tory brexiteers are totally against the current Backstop arrangement and the Conservative MPs who will vote against the deal are going against the Government in the interests of the country.Labour are acting in their own interests and would oppose ANY deal negotiated by the Government.

Doesn't it make Norway variants redundant as there is no backstop in that arrangement?
